Remus is totally so particular about his tea. He knows just the right about of milk and sugar and hates it when other people make yea for him because it’s wrong. He definitely watches people make tea too and cringes when they make “mistakes”, I bet his eye twitches when someone pours the milk with the teabag still in the mug ( the fat glogs up the pores of the teabag and there is no point in keeping it in there).
Sirius is the same with grammar and spelling. He will sit there silently watching, not correcting you(James has taught him it’s rude) but you can see the anger in his eyes and the need to correct. Every few weeks he crashes out about how everyone is illiterate except for him.
Remus got bored one day and just… read the dictionary. Cover to cover. And now he just… knows words, him and Sirius bond over people using words wrong and being angry about it. He told them about this and Pete decided to do the same thing one long summer. They now can no longer play scrabble with each-other because the games are too short. Both him and Pete obliterate everyone else at scrabble, even Sirius.
James learnt how to cast a Patronus in like 4th year because happy memories and hope came so easily to him. Bonus, people find it easier to cast patronus’ around him because his joyous energy is so powerful.
Peter was raised lower middle class with a single mother who ran away from a pure blood family, he knows how to identify heaps of edible weeds and common medicinal flowers, he considered being a healer before the war. His mum died in 6th year a few months after his 17th birthday because you know who tracked her down. He didn’t tell the other marauders because they were all finally happy and weren’t fighting at that point.
James’ mum taught him to bake/cook and he always wanted to cook for his friends but didn’t want to disrespect the house elves so he didn’t until after school and everyone was incredibly angry that he didn’t tell them/cook for them earlier. (He makes great lasagna, all homemade sauce, ingredients from his mums garden, and a mean bluberry scroll with a thick sweet glaze that he left on 12 grimould places’ doorstep one summer for Sirius. Reg found it instead. The note read from your best friend and brother- James reggie cried)
Sirius never had homemade food that wasn’t from a house elf until he ran away to the potters. He cried the first time he ate Effie’s food. His mother had never ever cooked for him.
Remus used to sit in the feilds near his house and watch the ants make little highways, carry little bits of leaves about and troop along in lines. He used to leave out his leftovers of crumbs in a particular spot every day and watch them. He let them crawl over his hands and loved all ants. Him and Sirius had a stupidly serious fight in first year when Sirius stepped on an ant. Remus thought he was more of a monster than himself.
Sirius didn’t know Latin and Ancient Greek were dead languages until he tried to speak them at hogwarts and just got asked if he was hexed with a gibberish charm. He was incredibly confused because him and reg used to talk in them all the time like it was normal. He also didn’t know most people weren’t polyglots. He switches between English, French, Russian, ancient greek and Latin (at least in first year) in most sentences. Only reg can understand him. James tried to learn a few of them over first year summer but gives up. Already knowing two languages at 12 was enough. He ended up getting Reggie to tag along with them to translate but Sirius started speaking in exclusively English after him and reg had a fight so that he didn’t need to be there. This action had consequences.
Peter has a collection of pressed dandelions from his mother ever year from when he was 11 to when he was 17. On his 18th birthday Sybil gave him some pressed black dahlias flowers that she saw in a vision that reminded her of him (look up meaning).
Remus is a king at monopoly and will get unnecessarily angry over it. He loves doing jigsaw puzzles on his own but hates doing them with other people because James and Sirius just put them together randomly and don’t do the border thing first. He converted Pete into putting the border in first in third year so now they play games together.
Regulus is a clean freak. It’s something his parents forced on him and Sirius. Sirius lets it go by second year. It sticks with reg. There is nothing better than a clean space. He’ll clean his dorm mates things up for fun, organise their trunks, wash down the bathroom, vacuum, sweep, fold, wash, dry place in colour order. This goes perfectly with the way both Sirius and James just leave everything everywhere. In Sirius’ second year and early third reg would tag along and clean the whole dorm for them. He found so many things out about the marauders that he never told anyone. He was just happy he knew them.
(Okay so warning idk why this is here but it’s incredibly freaky but it’s super funny cause I’m re reading this in my drafts and got jumpscared )
Sirius wanted to bite the stages of the moon into Remus’ skin, colour a new moon with a hickey. He wanted to do so many things.

At some point after the school was over, the marauders broke the enchantments/ the machine used to make wizarding coins so that each one of them had a different picture of each of their faces on them.
