Day 907 of the PhD
Just finished the HDR festival that my university runs. It’s like a mini conference for us to practice presenting etc. And because that’s not enough work for me I’m running workshops for my research all week! One down two to go.
I also love studying in Australia when the weather is like it is right now. Slightly chilly but sunny. So relaxing!

Ya know I don't think I've had anyone ask this before on here. Phd theses are always the most niche shit imaginable, and mine, of course, is no different.
I'm doing an analysis of divisional command during the First World War among the British, Australian and New Zealand armies.
The main argument boils down to the idea that the war accelerated processes of change within the army, but did not fundamentally break from tradition or past experience when it came to divisional command.

Today was absolutely beautiful! Blue skies, 70°, and all the trees beginning to bloom. I spent the morning at a local coffee shop reading through a chapter my supervisor wrote. I'm working my way through the historical context of her current research to better situate myself in the existing niche.
My goals today are to read and annotate this chapter, write my daily journal entry, spend some time in the sun, drink my water, take at least two long walks, and revise my schedule for next fall (one of my classes was canceled).
