How to read Noli me Tangere less painfully
Read the original spanish manuscript. The lesser you understand, the lesser the pain.
It’s my birthday today! So with that in mind, I decided to do a horror themed doodle of me as a Manananggal. I find it a bit funny that my birthday had managed to land on Friday the 13th and it was a convenient thing that I was born on October so of course I’m not gonna just ignore the opportunity presented to me.

Sigbin
Origin: Philippines
Type: Spirit
Sigbin is a horrible smelling creature that resembles a goat with no horns and large ears that clasps together like hands. Its head is lowered between its hind legs, and a long, flexible tail that can be used as a whip. During Easter week, it preys on the blood of humans, particularly children.
Batibat
Origin: Philippines
Type: Spirit
Habitat: Trees
The Batibat, also known as Bangungot, takes the form of an elderly obese woman and cuts down trees to make the post of a house. It hides in the posthole and attacks people in the night, sitting on them to suffocate them. To escape, the victim must either bite his thumb or wiggle their toe to awaken.
