BATIBAT - THE LUCID TREE
by John Patrick Gañas
enemies to lovers but only one of them thinks theyre enemies, the other is just hopelessly in love
A tree-dwelling demon. Due to her nature, the bangungot lends its name to sudden adult death syndrome and nightmares.
For #FilAmHistoryMonth and #Inktober I thought I’d learn about Philippine mythology using the #Engkantober prompts @malamaya.Noel put together a few years back! Second is the Batibat 🛌 Beware the Batibat, otherwise known as Bangungot, a literal Nightmare. A heavy spirit that lives in fallen trees that will sit on you as you sleep until you suffocate. Wiggle your toes to wake up, or you may be scared to death with a post-mortem diagnosis of Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome.
Batibat?
My sleep paralysis demon OC Eris 😩🙏 She’s currently my favorite character of mine right now
