More poppy playtime AU headcanons:

- the resistance has secret hideouts hidden across the factory that kissy missy tended to frequent after poppy was put in her case (she was looking for her friend 😔)

-playtime co has a very diverse payroll/staff as Eliot Ludwig believed in employing people from all walks of life (rare/sole Eliot W)

-the diversity of the payroll kind of is reflected in some of the toys that were canned or didn’t make it before the hour of joy

-the prototype can speak multiple languages (probably as a consequence of stalking/observing/listening so intently)

-although she’s polite if not a little distant poppy in this au has some low key gremlin energy. The more comfortable she

-there are flowers on the prototype’s shrine

-as a child Phil never met Ollie but disliked him due to how her father constantly praised his intelligence/remembered him fondly-(despite having two genius parents Phil wasn’t deemed a genius- so you can probably guess why she didn’t like Ollie)

-as a child Phil’s favorite smiling critter is dog day and she constantly had to defend him from Preston who was not impressed.

-the factory train stations are a big deal in this AU

-expect for there to be some crazy escapades

-the nightmare critters bigger bodies appear

-so fun fact one day when Phil was a child she had 2 ribbons in her hair. Eli, being himself took one and held it out of reach- and the two started to argue - Eli wanted one of hers and defended himself by saying that she should listen to him because he was older and “age before beauty-,” she countered asking if he thought she was beautiful and he didn’t say anything so she reached over and grabbed the ribbon from him- laughing while he just sort of blankly stared into space. She then actually took the ribbon and tied it around his neck so he could have something from her.

Name: Philomena Willard, or Phil (her initials are PW) or Angel/Butcher

Height: 5’2-5’3 (she’s still little)

Age: early to mid 20s-early 30s

Trivia:

is the adopted daughter of PW who has a younger adoptive sister who really loves catbee (the two are currently working to find anything on their missing father- pls don’t tell them what happened to their dad…)

is really good at parkour

suffers from complicated grief/survivor's guilt

is fluent in greek and sign language

is still terrified of huggy wuggy (and presumably now Bron)

ironically her favorite playtime co toy is kissy missy.

is still addicted to Granola (and Nutella)

there's a running gag that when people hear her nickname they assume it's short for Phillip

loved science as a kid (particularly chemistry and biochemistry)

absolutely despises Harley Sawyer due to the ever going fued Harley had with her father and then her mother

thanks to Matthew Hillard she has a deep love for high fantasy/superhero things- in particular Lord of the Rings, and Star Trek

she can still talk but doesn't due to a vocal chord injury (you can still hear her grunting, crying and screaming tho)

is the vice president of the local corporation supernatural conspiracy club that discusses all the supernatural happenings involved in various businesses. She only joined this club to figure out what was happening in playtime co.

she knows Michael Afton

has a simon smoke that's been her companion since chapter 4 (it's the one Harley tried to make her kill)

made the poor choice of giving Ollie a nickname during chapter 3 (she thinks he's trying extra hard to kill her now for it)

(side note: I thought it would be really funny if the player oc had some type of history with the prototype given how hard they're trying to kill each other))

History:

warning: I butcher the timeline below- sorry!

-my take has the player as a female/daughter of one of the people who were selected for Ludwig's young genius program. He was ecstatic when he was called back, and worked as a scientist for a bit. He encouraged Phil to pursue her love of science to the fullest extent. He was also Harley Sawyer's biggest dissenter

-Her mom also worked at Playtime co- as an executive (somewhere in the middle) and gave tours and was a guidance counselor. Phil can sometimes remember going on tours and meeting/seeing the poppy doll.

-Phil always wanted a poppy doll- but her father refused to buy her a poppy doll (or any toys made by playtime co for that matter). Although she did eventually obtain a kissy missy toy for her birthday thanks to Preston Willard (an associate and close friend of her father)

-Despite her parent's protest- she often hung out around playcare the days her mom took her to work. One time she accidentally wandered the orphanage coming across a room called 'Ollie's room' (don't ask me why) but believing someone to be in the room (she claims she heard something in there moving) she slid an envelope underneath the door and left cookies/food outside the door

-When her mom caught up to her she was grounded and never allowed back onto the orphanage site.

-Because she didn't know that either of her parents were co-conspirators against playtime their growing weariness and fear of the company confused her. Her parents had made plans to leave Michigan and head to a new state until one night after overhearing her dad talk to PW on the phone, he and her mother left to go buy supplies for her science fair project as they'd promised her, completely oblivious to the awaiting accident that would promptly take their lives, leaving Phil an orphan.

-Although taken in by playcare, Phil was devastated, and often unable to perform well on the playstation games.

- Fortunately she was able to form a few friendships with a girl named Riley who'd also lost her parents, and a kind young kid named Matthew, who would read about wizards to her and the rest of the children. (She personally considered Matthew to be her older brother)

-Her friendship with Matthew came to a close when he was chosen but she also promised Matthew that she'd get the final Word the Wizard book for him to read to all of them).

-However after Matthew's abrupt departure she found herself back at 'Ollie's room' only this time the other person on the other side of the door answered. They claimed to have been in ollie's room the day she found it. (She kept on leaving 'Ollie' food- she didn't know if he ate it or not- he claims he did but she doubts it- she suspects he's now trying to kill her for giving him oatmeal cookies back then. Her reasoning for doing this is that she assumes that Ollie is sad and lonely.) but the two became friends even though her new friend wanted her to do some strange tasks like stealing files/equipment that often confused her. (She never learns the name of her friend- I call him 'Ollie' here but just know that Phil never knew he was named that.)

-But her time in playcare was abruptly cut short when PW stepped in swiftly adopting her. Although PW claims he adopted her as a promise he made to her parents- Phil secretly suspected that it was because during one of the visitation sessions she told him about an 'Ollie' which seemed to unnerve him greatly. She tries to convince PW to also adopt Ollie but PW refuses. She asks PW if he thinks Ollie will ever find a home and PW says he thinks Ollie will someday.

-She later got a summer internship at playcare/the orphanage (thanks to someone pulling some strings) a few years after- and sometimes worked in the warehouse under Rich Lovitz. Sometimes she'd sneak back into the factory to either give the orphans (toys and candy) or attempt to meet up with her old friends at the orphanage. However, she noticed that most were gone, having left behind no trace nor clue of where they'd disappeared to, all that she'd heard some of the workers say was that they'd been chosen for 'testing'. Whatever that was.

-She tried to convince PW to adopt some of the other orphans but it all came to an abrupt end when they were informed that said orphan had been chosen for testing.

-Her feelings only worsened after stumbling across some old documentation that her mother seemingly signed after her passing- Phil grew suspicious of Playcare.

-She was later caught up in a factory accident that damaged her vocal cords. After waking up in the hospital she gets into an argument with PW over playcare and her parents. Preston promises to explain everything to her when he comes home that evening but he never returns as that day would ultimately become the hour of joy, and the last day she would ever see her adopted father.

Moving on wasn't an easy affair for Phil or her family, as she'd often found herself wandering to the outside of the factory, watching strange trucks of what appeared to be extraction teams enter into the factory, often in far greater numbers than those that left, until one day everything stopped.

-Wanting answers, once she received the letter she headed back into the factory.
