The most famous general of the Mongols, Subutai rose from humble beginnings to become one of the greatest military commanders of all time. Leading campaigns from China to the Hungarian plain, Subutai's mastery of the art of war left few able to stand against the might of the Great Khan. Despite his fame, there is little in the way of artwork for him, both medieval and modern. Phobs has a very distinct Subutai, a fantastic design I did not want to copy. There is a medieval Chinese image made of him, which while in no way accurate to how he would have appeared, I decided to take some cues from. Particularly, in the image he has a shawl of shorts draped across his shoulders I decided to include, and make bright yellow, ensuring that he'll always have a distinguishing mark on him.
