“I have so many best friends!” Could she list them all? She’d try.
“I have my friends from Mineral Town, Claire and Ann and Mary and Elli and Kai and Karen and I even have Gray here! He lives on Leuda now but we grew up together in Mineral Town! And my friends here, Jamie and Ellen and Elise! And my friends at the doctors! Dorothy’s my favorite friend at the doctors but don’t tell anyone,” She laughed and held a finger to her lips.
Ash had recently come back from another usual day at the flower farm, in his hand a soft petaled pink rose. He twirls it around in his hand and smiles lightly, recalling how he had given a rose to his best friend, Kamil. He suddenly remembers about his pressed flowers in one of his old books and takes the book from the shelf to gently open up the book, revealing the dried flowers inside. He touches the dried daisy, one of his favorites, and decides to write in his journal:
“~ June 19, 2017,
I’d prefer to save the best for last, and so I’ll write about the most important thing last I guess.
Anyway, things have gotten back into the usual flow after that voyage I went on with Frey (my roommate), Jake (a guild member), and Chase (my new buddy!) and it’s been pretty good so far! I don’t have to worry about doppelgangers haunting me, just about the next batch of flowers to grow for my newest farm: Fantastic Flowers Farm!
I’ve also been catching up with friends like Chelsea and Georgia. I met my new neighbor, Luke, who oddly looks like me...? Doppelganger 2.0???? Oh, well. At least he’s nice, right?
Now, about saving the best for last... Kamil’s been on my mind a lot now. I don’t know why, I’ve never really thought of him as anything more than a friend but this feeling I get whenever we’re around makes me question everything I’ve ever known about our relationship, really. I’ve known him since we were kids, I know him like the back of my hand (except I don’t know my hand that well, but that’s just a metaphor) and I know that he isn’t the straightest stick out there but... Me? Why would he even be interested in me?”
Ash sits back in his chair and groans, his hands folded behind his head. “Damnit feelings, damnit.” He goes back to writing, his feelings going straight out to the paper:
“I mean, I feel like we’re just being playful with each other but there’s this other part of me that feels like there’s more to it than meets the eye. I don’t know. Feelings are weird. He’s weird. I’m weird. We’re all weird.
Alex had a lot to think about recently. His life had changed in more ways than he could have dreamed in the last year or so. Not only had he watched his best friends begin to get married and have children, he’d made some important developments of his own, including purchasing two businesses on impulse and successfully managing them, and beginning the slow journey of coming to terms with aspects of himself that he hadn’t previously acknowledged.
And yet... He was still living in a hotel.
That’s when Alex decided enough was enough. As much as he wanted to be, he wasn’t a kid any more. He had to step up and take some responsibility. Buying a house had always seemed like some huge deal, a milestone in his life that would take a lot of organisation and planning on his part, which was why he had been putting it off for so long.
But not any more.
It was time to move out of the Bell Hotel.

Heather: Do you have someone you protect/want to protect?
Heather: Do you have someone you protect/want to protect?
“Not really a …person, but I’m pretty protective of witches. With everything becoming so tech driven, a lot of people have negative view of witches. People either think they’re evil or that they’re phony. But neither is true. Of course, there are evil witches, but there are evil humans and evil elves and evil dwarves. That doesn’t make humans, elves, or dwarves evil. Likewise, witches aren’t evil. I hope I can make it well known that witches are kind and helpful by being an example!”
Lilac: Have you had a first love? If so, who was it?
“Funny story actually. Back in middle school I liked this kid so I made my first love potion. Didn’t work out, ended up making him violently ill and I got in huge trouble and he totally hated me after that. I was kind of really upset for the next month but it pushed me to work harder! I spent that month working on perfecting a love potion, see, no one at school would take anything I gave them after that, so I had to test them on myself. Lots and lots of negative effects, but I ended up getting it right! Fell in love with some stranger but the potion only lasted a week. Totally weirded the guy out having an absolute stranger fawning over him, probably weirded him out more how after a week I totally ghosted him.
Anyways, ended up associating the original kid with all the negative effects of the trial potions so I wasn’t into him anymore.”
