Ayon sa mga alamat, noong dumating ang mga Espanyol dito sa Cebu, una silang napadpad sa isang isla. Nang magtanong sila kung anong pangalan ng isla, sinagot sila ng mga katutubong magsasaka ng “camote” ibig-sabihin nito ay ang kamote na kanilang inaani. Doon nanggaling ang pangalang Camotes Island. 

Ang Camotes ay isang pangkat ng mga isla na binubuo ng apat na bayan ng Cebu (Poro, Tudela, Pilar at San Francisco), sa heograpiya na matatagpuan silangan ng lalawigan ng probinsya, sa pagitan ng mga isla ng Cebu at Leyte sa gitnang Pilipinas, dalawang oras ang layo ng bangka mula sa Danao , hilaga ng Cebu City.

Isa ito sa mga pinakasikat na tourist spot dito sa Cebu lalo na tuwing bakasyon. Ang preskong hangin, malinis na paligid, ang malinaw na tubig-dagat at ang maputi at pinong buhangin sa baybayin. Hindi talaga mataltalan na isa ito sa pinakamaganda na isla sa buong Pilipinas. Maraming turista ang pumupunta dito dahil sa likas na kagandahan ng kalikasan. 

Paano mo masiyahan ang pagpunta mo dito sa Camotes Island? Siyempre, yun ay kasama mo ang iyong buong pamilya. Tulad ko, kapag pumupunta kami dito, kompleto kami lahat, dahil ang buong angkan namin ay taga rito! Masaya mamasyal kasama ang mga pinsan mong matagal mo ng hindi nakausap ng matagal na panahon. Sa panahon na kayo ay nagsasama sa isang magandang baybayin, maaalala mo lahat ng mga pinagdaanan niyo noon. Lalo na sa lugar kung saan kayo sabay na lumaki. Ang mga tampok na lugar kung saan kayo naglalaro at nagbabad ng araw. Para ka na ring bumalik sa pagka bata.

So this year, I started to fullfill another goal from my bucketlist which is--Traveling Solo. I had my first out of the country travel on the first month of the year 2016, and guess what?! I travelled solo for the first time too! It was a back to back to back firsts of my traveling life! It was certainly a great start and I was really happy about it. My traveling solo journey continues up to this month and hopefully I can do a lot more traveling this year! Along the way, I noticed a lot of differences and difficulties when you are traveling alone compared to your travels within a group. Number one on the list is of course, capturing the moments! This is the time where you will really appreciate a travel companion to of course, take your photos along the journey. But remember, this should not stop you from traveling solo! So what I do now is practice my solo traveling photography 101! On this technique, strangers you encounter on the places you are in, your camera, your creativity and charm are your tickets in order to be successful on this. Use your charm and don't be shy to ask strangers if they can take a photo of you so you will not just have tons of selfies to keep. Use your creativity and angling techniques as well as improvise when you are taking your selfies, or in my case I use TIMER a lot and then pose! 😂 Above all, having a perfect, user friendly, flexible and convenient #travelcaMpanion to capture all your wonderful travel moments is the most important to note.
