So there's a setting I'va had for a while which is all about a female crew of pirate ship of the late 17th-18th century, sea monsters, drama, and wlw included. Yea luv them

What if some marine captain of an exploratory ship chose not to map some specific islands?

Like to use them to hide his treasures after commiting crimes against the crown the captain served.

Or to hide the mnemonic horrors that exist on the island.

Perhaps the island is to be used by him as a secret base when he takes rule of a colony he establishes and in a long play overthrows his king.
