We’ve all but got a confirmed case at my university and the bastards are still dragging their feet, so I feel that.

We’re on break, I don’t talk to anyone from school so idk if anything’s gone awry yet, and I’m kinda waiting for the “yeah don’t come back” email but also not holding my breath. I’m at a small school (~1500-ish student population) and that makes me think we’ll cancel LATER, but idk.

I knew a guy in college who said reading The Fountainhead made him want to be a writer. I can only assume it was the first book he had ever read and was just fascinated that words could be put together to make meaning.

​there's a reason she wrote atlas shrugged during the civil rights era and her target audience knew exactly who she was talking about when she went on pages-long rants against the welfare state and the people who benefited from it. eugenicists will read any slop that makes them feel comfortable in their eugenicism

Yes, Edward O'Neill. He played Al Bundy on Married With Children. Back before he hit his groove as a good-looking young guy, in the late 80s. I'm not saying he looked old but he definitely looked a lot older than 27 (at the time of the photo). (The Wikipedia article makes the same claim, it's not just me.)

The Australian indie-rock duo An Horse has Kate Cooper on the vocals. Joan Jett? Maybe Cœur de pirate? Janis Ian had a few nice songs. I dunno I'm only thinking of western rock music atm.

Re: the Luke thing, can you stop the vague blogging maybe? The author who you're referring to has recanted her view on most of that, plus people are allowed to disagree about readings of characters. Her point, whether it was well made or not, was that it simplifies Luke's character/doesn't really match what we've seen/trivializes Jocelyn, etc. Like chill out, eh?
