if u lose ur 50/50 on this multi banner does the guarantee carry over to Caleb’s next myth?
Okay, I did the math on Magia Exedra's pity system
Based on a previous post I reblogged, let's say you're trying to get Mami Tomoe and are having horrendous luck. How many gems would it take to get a pity draw?
The pity system means you have to spend 200 medals, with one earned per failed draw.
Let's assume that you are ultizing the 10-draw method every time at 3,000 gems per 10-draw.
200 chances to draw Mami / 10 draws per set= 20 sets of 10 draws.
20 sets of draws x 3000 gems (per 10-draw) = 60,000 gems.
SIXTY THOUSAND
FIFTEEN THOUSAND GEMS COST 60 BUCKS AND THATS THE HIGHEST YOU CAN GO
THE PITY SYSTEM IS BROKEN
(also apologies if my math is wrong! I double checked it but if its inaccurate I can repost this with the correct info)
I know a lot of players are still (understandably) a bit confused about the pity system 🤯, so I wanted to share a clear breakdown of how it works for each banner.🙂 Sorry for the long post 🫣 - I did my best to keep it concise while covering all the important details! 🫡
A pity system is a key feature of a Gacha Game.
What is a Gacha Game?
A gacha game is a type of video game (usually on mobile) where players “pull” or “summon” characters, items, or equipment using in-game currency.
Note 1: The term comes from "gachapon" = Japanese vending machines that give random toys.
Note 2: Other well-known/popular gacha games include Genshin Impact, AFK Arena, Honkai Impact 3rd, etc.
What is a Pity System?
It’s a built-in mechanic that guarantees players a high-rarity reward after a certain number of pulls.
What does Soft & Hard Pity mean?
"Soft pity" : A mechanic that gradually increases your chances of getting a 5-star memory as you make more pulls without obtaining one
"Hard pity" : A guaranteed drop threshold. If you haven’t pulled a 5-star memory by a certain number of pulls, the game guarantees it on that pull
Standard (Permanent) Banner - Xspace Echo
How does its pity system work?
At least one 4-star (or higher) memory is guaranteed every 10 pulls
The maximum number of pulls is 70 (the 70th pull guarantees a 5-star memory)
To pull, use Empyrean (blue) wish tickets
How to get Empyrean wish tickets:
1. In-game events
2. Weekly tasks
3. The Shop (Chocolates or Heartsand) or purchased with diamonds (150 diamonds per wish)
4. Upgrading memories
5. Battles (Directional/Open Orbit, Hunter Contests etc.)
6. Achievements
7. Codes & mail rewards (via redeem codes or in-game mail)
Limited (Event) Banners
These banners feature specific event memories
How does its pity system work?
Maximum number of pulls is 70 (the 70th pull guarantees a 5-star memory)
When you get a 5-star memory, there’s typically a 50% chance it’s one of the featured event memories
If your first 5-star memory isn’t the featured one, your next 5-star memory is guaranteed to be featured (50/50 fail → guarantee system)
To pull, use Deepspace (golden) wish tickets
How to get limited wish tickets? :
1. The Shop – can be bought with diamonds (150 diamonds per wish)
2. Event Shops - by playing event quests, challenges, or special activities
3. Packs - purchased with real money
4. In-game mail
Note: Deepspace tickets with a date above them are available for a limited time. If you don’t use them during the event, they convert into regular Empyrean Wishes once the event ends.
Rerun Limited Banner
Previously featured memories from an earlier limited banner appear again for a set period, just like the original limited banner
How does its pity system work?
Rerun banners follow the same pity system as a limited banner (maximum number of pulls is 60)
To pull, use Time wish tickets
How to get Deepspace rerun tickets:
1. Buy them with diamonds during the rerun (150 diamonds per ticket)
2. Special packs in the shop
Precise Wish
On some limited banners, you can set a "Precise Wish" to pick the exact event memory you want
If your first 5-star memory isn’t your selected target, your next 5-star memory is guaranteed to be that selected one
Note: This selection persists until you get the target, even if the banner reruns.
Extra Notes (apply to all banners)
Pity resets after you pull any 5-star memory.
Your current pity count carries over between limited banners.
Explanation: If you are, for example, 30 pulls into pity on one banner, you start the next banner at 30 pulls.
IT'S OFFICIAL
PITY STARTING WITH HEIAN-KYO ON NA
(Congrats to all the Douman fans aiming to get them with over 900 quartz & tickets saved up. Guaranteed clown.)
This isn’t even a decent pity system. Honestly? It’s utter bullshit. 330 rolls for a SINGLE banner that does NOT roll over.
900 saint quartz. 900. Now, I know we have Whales in our community, and some of us do save up an insane amount of SQ for a single banner. But let’s consider the majority?
Right now? I have 201 SQ, because I spent everything I had trying to get my baby when Pendragon’s banner was up. 201. What will I use that for? Bradamante, because I’m going after Lancers. But as a f2p, I’m not going to spend oodles trying to get to /900/ SQ. And I’m not going to save all year, when I want Caenis, and Melt, and (insert lancer here). It’s not a pity system, it’s an incentive for whales to whale more.
