It will forever frustrate me that Sardward and Shieldbert were made to represent the descendants to the kings of Galar… when Hop and Leon are LITERALLY RIGHT THERE!

Like I thought we were going to get the plot twist that they learn their heritage they thought they had was a lie told to them by their family (Kind of like Pacifica's family in Gravity Falls) and it be revealed Hop and Leon are actually the true descendants. Like it felt like they were hinting it!

   -The fact they both have purple hair and the color purple mainly represents royalty

   -The fact they both have gold eyes that could show their connection to Zacian and Zamazenta. The only characters in Sword and Shield who have gold eyes mind you! (Also the fact the Doggo's color schemes when you blend them make purple)

   -The fact that the first statue of the Hero of Galar we see has a striking resemblance to Leon with his long hair and his pose kind of looking like Leon's charizard pose!

-Leon’s entire king motif!

   -How their hair can kind of be a reflection to a sword and shield with Leon being the shield and Hop being the sword in a way that doesn’t look like they insulted their hairdresser and they gave them the horrible hairstyles as payback… (Admittedly Hop's is a bit more of a stretch but Leon's is 100% a lot like a shield given the little hair swoops and the length of it.)

-Not to mention how their personalities kind of represent it to with Leon being the protector of Galar and all those he loves and cares about. The Shield, and Hop when he thinks someone he loves and cares about is in danger goes all out in attack mode without thinking. The Sword.

Anyway the lesson being at the end the two with the goofy hair realizing they shouldn't be basing their entire identities and achievements off of their ancestors because they rob themselves of their own lives and achievements... which I think that was their lesson anyway? It's been a while since I played that part of Sword and Shield but it really would have especially hit harder for them to be hit with that lie and them deciding to find themselves and it actually strengthen their own bonds as brothers because they're not trying to act like their ancestors they were so obsessively proud of all that time. They act like themselves from now on. The game does show they care about each other so that would be a sweet end for the goofs. (And maybe have them decide to change their hair too like please... please boys fix your hair...)

Then Leon and Hop learn they're the true descendants and they're like "Wow that's cool! Doesn't really change a thing for us or who we are though. We love the paths we've chosen and our bond as brothers is because we love and would do anything for each other even before knowing this!" And they're just happy that other brother is safe. Leon confirming he's proud of Hop no matter what path he takes and considers him his rival and Hop just being shooketh and then so happy which makes Leon extra happy. They're all happy, everyone's happy with their lives and their bonds are stronger than ever.

...Sorry, I'm just really passionate about this sort of thing and Leon and Hop are my favorite characters in the Pokémon series with SWSH being my favorite game for a number of reasons. I just see so many story opportunities there but it isn't taken as someone who loves this stuff it hurts... 🥲

Might tweak some details in the future, but for now here’s my Villain AU Leon, inspired by the sygna outfit but in my own way and more villain like (even if it does looks a bit ridiculous but hey, Leon outfits always look a bit ridiculous).

My villain AU is 100% self indulgent and despite trying to have it “make sense” within what the game shows, I am not trying to make everything fit the canon, and it will not fit with canon at several points (starting with the fact my Pokemon Oc, Al, is right there in the middle).

That being said, if anyone is expecting a story that explores Leon being a villain that goes with canon and fits the games/anime, this AU is not for you, but you are very welcome to tag along and enjoy the ride if you want to.

About the AU:

Leon is the same we all love during most of the events of the game. In this AU it all starts going downhill after the fight with Eternatus, it’s fairly close to the end of the game since I thought it would be more interesting for me to build something that happens after.

The first difference is Leon manages to catch Eternatus during their fight on top of the Hammerlock stadium and power plant (or more like Eternatus allows Leon to catch it). Things seem to go back to normal, Leon saved Galar, got a Legendary pokemon, and gets an even greater popularity than before as unbeatable. That is until the final match, were despite it all, he gets defeated and looses his Champion title to Al (because tbh I want to still have my character in that mess, but yeah Leon looses his title anyway).

So now that he no longer is “the champion king of Galar” he moves to take the Galar’s Pokemon League Chairman spot, which is a higher role with more power that allows him to keep working towards his goal and dream of helping Galar trainers to be the strongest of them all…

From the outside things look normal, until they don’t and it’s too late. It starts with the Battle Tower/Eternatus Tower, which allows trainers to prove their strength (and find strong recruits), then random pokemon dynamaxing in the wild area more and more often, then dynamax attacks at routes and even inside the cities. Leon keeps sending the Champion to help (and keep her distracted too), and to most he seems the same as always, maybe a bit more cold, but his friends can tell something is very wrong and different. He tries very hard to not give away his intentions until it’s impossible, pushed to a corner by Raihan and Piers, plus the new Champion.

His new colors show to all Galar when he gives the announcement that the Champion renounced to her title, which he claims back, admits being behind all the dynamax attacks, reveals his new organization Team Eternity, gives one last chance to the other gym leaders to join him, and threatens to unleash the Darkest Day with Eternatus if anyone tries to attack him and stop his Team.

Why would Leon do this? Is it really him behind all or perhaps he is just a puppet to a new master?

Raihan vs Leon?

Well of course, after all someone had to oppose the king and whom better for this than his rival, the dragon tamer.

Once Raihan catches up with something being horribly wrong with his friend, he takes matter into his own hands, protecting Hammerlock and it’s inhabitants, which means constantly opposing E. Leon, directly or indirectly.

Unfortunately this, plus the fact E. Leon really wants in the power plant under the castle, means Hammerlock quickly becomes one of the top list targets for E. Leon, and getting in or out of the city is almost impossible with the constant dynamax pokemon outside it’s walls.

I find it interesting that so many of the most popular male/male ships in Pokemon are either red coded, blue coded or both.

Like Originshipping is very Blue. Not only do they both have cool colored color palettes, Steven and Wallace are both gentlemen. They're theatrical, yet restrained at the same time. Through their interactions, they tease each other, rely on each other, but they never acknowledge what they are to each other. If I recall correctly, they don't even refer to each other as rivals like, say, Leon and Raihan or Red and Blue do.

Speaking of Leon and Raihan, they are a very Red coded couple. Their color palettes are both very warm. They fire each other up. Leon is more blue coded than Raihan is, but his ace is fiery red. In contrast to Raihan's universally warm color palette and his Sandstorm team, his ace is blue coded. They only have touches of blue to underline what is a very red-coded pairing forged in the heat of battle.

Maxie and Archie actually reverse the typical red-blue color theory dichotomy. Maxie, despite everything about him being red, has the cool, stern disposition you'd expect from a blue-coded character. On the other hand, Archie is gregarious, loud, and outgoing, traits you'd expect from a red coded character. I think this is why people like them together, although I myself am lukewarm on this ship.

Continuing on this trend, of course, are Red and Blue. Red is reclusive and nearly mute, yet when he is spurred to action he hits like a truck. Blue is outgoing, loud, and very present, you can tell he's strong right off the bat. Once again, Red is blue coded and Blue is red coded.

Sycamore and Lysandre have this too, with Sycamore being blue coded and Lysandre being red coded. I think we can all understand why--Lysandre is passionate and fiery, Sycamore is passive and content to keep away from the action.

Idk. I might not actually be on to anything here. Let me know if any of you think of any more ships that can be color coded like this. Especially if they're m/f or f/f.

I'm sure its very entertaining to see what new fandom i will be posting art for this month. this week's issue is being obsessed with a ship from Pokémon characters from two different games!

I have NO clue if there are any other guzma x leon truthers but if i am the only one I will stay strong
