i was legit worried about offering a plant propagation class, thinking it was too simple and nobody would show because it's all over socials on how to do. but thankfully i still did it because honestly a lot of people signed up, and they all asked a lot of questions and learned a lot.

just proof to myself that you just don't know until you try. 8/10 will teach again but with adjustments (like a drink carrier to take the bottles home lol)

TIL, after seeing flower buds and googling frantically, that mimosa pudica plants are biennial indoors and it’s supposedly going to die after it flowers :((

does anyone have any tips of how to keep mine alive? should i cut off the buds to keep the energy going to the leaves?

i know i’m supposed to just collect the seeds and restart, but i’ve grown attached to this one in particular and would prefer to keep it alive at the expense of its flowers

can i perform some sort of flower abortion on this plant to keep it alive?

I ordered these two hoyas through a seller on Palm Street at the end of October last year. For a while they didn't do much, however lately they have taken off! The Pubiclyx, left, has grown four new leaves recently. The pink ones in the Australis Lisa have grown larger than its precious leaves, and the beautiful pink has stayed quite some time. Those are its first new leaves since I got her, so it is exciting to see. The photo of them from before recently popped up on my phone so I wanted to share.

So I brought this lil guy in last night to protect it from the hurricane, and I learned something pretty cool while taking it back outside. I noticed it was a little wet, and appeared to be (what my very dumb ass thought was) “sweating”

Apparently this is a process called “transpiration” This happens when the leaves have as much moisture as they can hold so they release excess moisture through the leaves.
