one of the most demoralizing things about my job is the fact that people will look at my name tag and make lame jokes about my name, but completely ignore the pin right next to my name that says “she/her” on it. it’s like customers will go out of their way to say “sir” or “brother” or “man” or “bro”.

i get people say “bro” and “man” gender neutrally sometimes, but it’s honestly getting to the point where im getting annoyed hearing it even in that context.

i get some probably “don’t wanna assume” since i am masc looking, but like, i have that pin, my nails are done up and painted, i have some makeup on usually, like, come on. put 2 and 2 together.
