yk as someone who's been homeless, whos given their last dollar away many times, and who now that they are housed & in the least financial duress theyve ever been in their life they cannot go more than a week without redistributing the money they earn or else they feel absolutely unhinged:

i don't understand how ppl who work full time dont feel absolutely insane not donating at least once a week to the people in need around them. i truly dont. it makes absolutely no sense to me. i dont understand how you can see so many people suffering around you, begging for any help at all, and think that you arent obligated to help them. and i dont want to hear any reasons either - if you work full time, if your monthly bills are covered, if you can get takeout once a week or even once every other week there's no reason you cant set aside at least $50-100 a month (and that's a generously low monthly minimum for USAmericans who are making ends meet regularly imo) to redistribute unless you think that you are somehow more entitled to [basic human needs that have been turned commodity by capitalism] than others. i dont understand how you arent donating. i dont understand how you dont restructure your life so you can help people in need, even if it IS sometimes just a temporary fix to a much larger issue. i dont understand how you call for the "eating of the rich", the dismantling of capitalism, the betterment of life for all without fulfilling your obligation to use your privilege to help those in need. don't explain it to me, this is on you to manage. I will not absolve you of any feelings that may come up from reading my words.

To the like four other Starstruck fans out there may I present my silly headcanons…

Arospec Tom Ryder and Acespec Grace. Please see the vision

Tom Ryder who has never given thought to or really understood the appeal of actual romantic relationships because he’s never actual felt anything like that or been into anyone like that before and he just thinks romantic relationships are an excuse for more sex and why bother with that when he can fuck whoever he wants whenever he wants without having to get attached to them.

Ryland Grace who yearns for connection to people but can never give them everything they want without hurting himself and being something he’s not and he’s so so tired of that bullshit.

Now imagine, the first time Tom sees Grace, he thinks oh fuck yeah, perfect opportunity to mess with Colt. And it works at first, Grace gets flustered which is fun and kinda cute which Tom can acknowledge objectively, and Colt gets pissed which Tom can get amusement from. And Tom, asshole that he is, is sort of accidentally not so accidentally stringing Grace along with all the flirting, even exchanging numbers (I dunno I’m focusing on Tom’s perspective here imagine Grace’s to your heart’s content). And then they start talking, and Tom realizes okay, maybe they can kinda consider each other friends— a somewhat new and foreign concept to Tom when he’s as high up on the totem pole as he is, nobody wants to be friends with Tom, they’re “friends” with Tom Ryder.

And eventually, shit starts to get a bit more serious. And they get to know each other more and more, and Tom realizes oh fuck, he’s head over heels for this nerdy ass double of his stunt double what the fuck he’s never felt like that about ANYONE before what does that mean??

Anyway long story short, demiromantic Tom Ryder truther. Ryland “I can make him better” (and he does) Grace truther.

I wanna talk about this picture and my interpretation of it! 👇

This is from Ruin's cover of Empty Chairs at Empty Tables. The art is done by @ayyy-imma-ninja if I'm remembering correctly(?)

Okay, so in the picture we obviously see Ruin at an empty table while the shadow being casted has all his dead friends and his Monty (Rusty)

Now obviously this is supposed to represent the fact that well they're all dead. He's the last one left alive but I also wanna point out something else. Notice how despite Ruin being in the middle of the table, directly under the light, he has no shadow?

I think this is supposed to represent how Ruin may never see his friends again cause of his immortality.

Ruin can't actually die until he's atoned for every sin against the multiverse he committed and considering the fact that he wiped out 5,000 dimensions, killed quadrillions of lives, and doesn't really seem to be changing his wicked ways (He attacked NovaFrost and crippled them for a bit) I don't think Ruin is ever gonna see his friends again in our lifetime.

Ruin longs to be with his friends and his Monty but he can't. They're dead and he's stuck living. A curse he brought upon himself.

Sure, helping to stop Afton and helping Tiger defeat Chris are good things but he keeps doing unsavory things along the way. He crippled and threatened Nova (Granted, that was Tiger Rock's idea but Ruin still went along with it) he softly threatened Jack and Molten, and that's just the sins he committed in this universe!

He turned Eclipse into a baby slowing down his cure for the Ruin virus, he killed Lefty when Lefty tried to stop Ruin from stopping Charlie, and Ruin was fully willing to let everyone in the EAPS dimension die if it meant his Monty lived.

Ruin is five steps forward, twenty-five steps back.

I want Ruin to get his happy ending but the problem is, he is actively sabotaging himself. If he can't stop doing these bad things (and being selfish) he may never see his friends again or at least he won't see them till the end of time and who knows how long it will be till the whole universe ends?

So unless Ruin wants to be forever alone at this table, he better stop backsliding.

Instant Eternity Pt. 3

Part 1

So I’ve head this scene in my head for ages but haven’t had a place to put but after seeing this post and promptly getting beamed in the face by a cinder block with ✨Inspiration✨ written on the side in glitter pin I decided I had to just make a whole thing for it.

The League’s holding a meeting to induct Phantom as a new member and while waiting for him to arrive to the meeting Someone(probably Green Lantern or Arrow lol) makes a joke about how Phantom, a ghost hero, decided to us Phantom of all things as his hero name being like if Batman used “Person” as his name, saying they don’t understand why they arn’t putting him into the team because he’s clearly just a kid. Constantine just looks them in the eye with a dead serious but somehow extremely exasperated look.

“No one ever reads the bloody briefs. Why would they? It’s not like I’m a professional who puts them together specifically so you idiots can read them and not wind up signing Earths death warrant or something on accident. Bats. What’s the pop culture definition of a phantom?”

Batman squinted, already knowing where this is going because he read the surprisingly well put together info packet and more than willing to play along if it meant Lantern would have another reason to think twice before ‘forgeting’ to read the next packet he himself hands out. “A form of undead spirit characterized by 1) it’s unusually high ability to and near constant interaction with the living world and 2) having a overarching purpose rather than a specific mission as their ‘unfinished business’, such as seeking to stop all criminals rather than just their own killer.”

“Sounds about right. The official JLD definition is about 14 pages, but broad strokes. What’s a real phantom?”

“The official supernatural definition is mostly the same, with special attention paid to their exceptionally high magical energy levels, ability to directly interact with the physical world nearly effortlessly, the fact that them having a purpose rather than a mission meaning they can never truly ‘move on’ like a normal poltergeist can by finishing their ‘unfinished business’ and the extreme rarity of ‘True Phantoms’. With most spirits called a Phantom even in the supernatural community only meeting one or two of these criteria.”

“Phantom, the hero, has been spotted all across the world all throughout history. Epic poems of his clash’s with the Gods of Greece, sarcophagus of Pharaoh’s made in his image, human sacrifices made by the Aztecs in an attempt to call him back and make amends after The Betrayal, cave painting across the globe, effigy’s said to ward off evil spirits still made and distributed by temples all across Asia to this day, frescos in the Vatican of him fending off the forces of Trigon trying to free the bloody bastard. I’d be surprised if Vandal Savage didn’t grow up hearing at least second and third hand stories about Phantom in whatever oral history his tribe passed down back in the day.

You got it backwards mate. Phantom didn’t name himself after phantoms. Humanity named phantoms after The Phantom. The Guardian of the Dead and Protector of the Living who has stood vigil since before the beginning.

Ain’t tell’n ya this to scare ya. He ain’t a threat. But even if he looks, even acts, like a kid jus’ cause he died as one and maybe even is one in’a way. Phantom’s not just a kid. He’s been doing this whole hero shtick since before the idea of hero’s even existed. So don’t try and treat him like some little kid that doesn’t understand how the world works. We’re inviting him into the League instead of The Team for a reason.”
