I was thinking about a killer plot for my war arc involving Itachi and then remembered that fucking Sasuke already killed him fuck 😭

Damen goes all berserker at the Kingsmeet. it's another one of those inexplicable things in the plot of Kings Rising. damen lays out the rules to Laurent as they walk in: anyone who commits violence in the Kingsmeet must die; Even a king who is protecting his brother and kills the attacker must die because it was in the kingsmeet. That's it. There are no exceptions, no codicils, no escape routes.

And yet--damen unsheathes his sword and slaughters.

Of course Damen will swing here. As the saying goes for writers, don't hang a gun on the wall unless you're going to use it. Don't hang an inevitably fatal law on the wall if you're not going to make it part of the plot. And Damen's anger brain has a screw loose.

And, wow, it's OK for him to walk away. 

he should never have been able to. The pertinent rules of course weren't given ahead of time, as in, whatever random King was present gets to decide whether they live or die; that was never said before. And the Regent says, oh, yeah, whatever, let him live. Which seems unlike him, even to get Laurent's cooperation. it is true that the Regent seems to prefer treason and subterfuge, but still – – 

And all those kingsmeet soldiers lie dead. That could've included Nikandros not too many years earlier.

Good news: I think the muse came back for my Lucifer stories as I am finally getting ideas for them.

Bad news: the ideas are for plot that happens later in the story and I still don’t know what happens in the next chapter.

Something wicked: Shtriga motivation

Each time I watched 1 x 18 Something Wicked, I wondered why the Strigha went after Sam's life force at the end of the episode. It didn't make sense to me, since it was said that it usually goes after kids.

I currently have two theories to explain that after another rewatch:

1) The Shtriga remembered or recognized Sammy from their previous encounter and wanted to finish the job. As a matter of thoroughness or just to spite the hunters making its life more difficult.

2) The Shtriga somehow sensed that Sam had psychic powers and wanted to eat something more exotic for once. Or maybe it's the demon blood. Either way, it is the supernatural nature of Sam, as a child and as a young adult, that made him a target for this specific creature. (That and possibly the fact that John Winchester was sometimes using his child as bait, with and without their knowledge and consent to it.)

Which one has more traction? Is there another theory or headcanon for that plot point in the fandom?

I'm gonna try something for my book ideas that have no plot (yet): write at least one plot of each of these

Delusion Land: the 'everything is happy and goes perfectly' plot, I anticipate it to be boring and flat but it's better than nothing and I'm hoping it'll give me an idea of what I DONT want to happen or to pinpoint places I can fuck shit up

Depression Land: Murphy's Law-Alice in Wonderland version, 'EVERYTHING goes wrong that CAN and CANNOT possibly go wrong' plot, just to see how far I can push the angst, I'll see what fuckery ideas I wanna keep in the final plot

Common events: these are the events that happen in both plots no matter what, this is supposed to be the shortest one, *Edna Mode voice* NO DETAILS

Individual plot summaries from different characters' perspectives, to get their perspective and how they might react based only on the info they canonically have (not on what the MC knows), hopefully it'll help me write scenes more realistically instead of ideally, make it more character driven rather than plot driven

None of these are supposed to have fully written out scenes or anything, just bullet points of events with the type of summary you would give to a toddler with ADHD sitting in front of one of their hyper-fixations, y'know?

You wanna talk about plot holes??

Let's talk about Harry Potter. And I'm not even talking about the series as a whole. I'm talking about the first SUB THIRTY MINUTES of the FIRST FILM.

I preface this by saying that I'm sure many people have noticed this already, but I feel as though we don't talk about it enough, so I'm going to.

As we all know, Harry was born on July 31st. Hogwarts term starts on September 1st. Hagrid comes to fetch Harry from the Dursley's ON HIS BIRTHDAY and IMMEDIATELY takes him to Diagon Alley to first go to Gringotts and then to get his supplies. Now, we're aware that at least a couple days pass during this sequence because when Harry is boarding the train, it appears to be early morning. But a whole month skipped?? All while Harry is wearing the same fucking clothes?? So I guess my question is Where the fuck did August go????
