YIPPEE!!
"The Star"
"You'll be okay." "You'll be okay." "You'll be okay."
"We'll be okay."
After being traumatized and having to be around my abusers for the first 18 years of my life with heavy disassociation and amnesia walls, functional multiplicity feels weird as fuck.
Most of our alters that had specific roles just are hanging around here now. Switching is much easier and can sometimes be done willfully if one of us wants to do something or spend time with our boyfriend and/or partner. Amnesia barriers are almost 100% gone. All of our dormant alters have become active again.
But even with all of that, we are still separate people with our own preferences, wants, needs, etc. Eventually we all got along to the point where all six of us just said fuck it, super polyamory time and now we're all dating each other and both of our partners.
Healing is awesome. Functional multiplicity, final fusion, independent multiplicity, it is all possible. If you're a system reading this, you will be okay. You'll get there one step at a time, I believe in you.
y'know
i think a lot of people should learn to be more accepting and respectful of systems that do not have or want any external partners whatsoever
like there are a lot of words i could throw at it here but i don't think i particularly need to. it's just rude to consider someones internal relationships inherently lesser? or to expect that they will eventually find an external partner and not treat them seriously?
like sure, many do. many systems have external partners whether they're sys4sys or dating a singlet
but not everyone wants to ? not everyone can ?
there are over 600 of us, almost all of which have internal relationships whether theyre platonic romantic sensual sexual queerplatonic or anything else. and trying to mix and match every one of them, or demand they all get along with One Person or One External Partner-System is just.. that's not how things work for us lol. there's no magic person in the world that we could cohabitate or honestly long-term have anything like that with for so many reasons.
but for an extremely long time we could not stop obsessing over finding "the one" or finding love or being loved by an external person. and now that we've made it past the rocky first few years after full syscovery and learned to coexist and cofront? ?
we have all that we need. we're complete as we are. there's no need there's no desire there's no yearning for someone else that does not and cannot truly exist because we are everything and nothing combined to make someone who is ultimately.. happy. utterly so.
and it's bizarre to sit here knowing that so much of the rest of the world (even other systems and queer folks online) just can't wrap their heads around it? that we're seen as weird for talking to ourselves and displaying affection that would be fine with separate bodies or separate online accounts known to be operated by two different bodies.
all that to say, just.. be respectful i guess? don't push that shit on people. you don't Have to love yourself in order to be allowed love from others but it definitely helps to be aware and accepting of your faults while seeking growth. being plural and literally loving yourself on whatever level of separation you prefer is something that i don't know if i could really describe.. but the lack of definition doesn't make it wrong. it's something that we're so greatful for, as chasing external validation forever would have left us miserable and unable to actually change our lives.
caring for and taking care of your fellow headmates regardless of how you choose to label it is meaningful and its worth it. it makes all of this worth it, really? all the dissociation and confusion and struggle becomes worth it when you're spending the night hanging out with your loved ones. or your amicable ones or your acquaintances or your coworkers or that guy you hate but tolerate. it's worth it to have those moments of peace but you have to constantly build them up and protect that peace in order to see the benefits of it. take care ✌️
☀️I love when two systems start dating or being in some kind of relationship together and it inevitably leads to multiple system members being with each other. How lovely.
Poly, sys4sys, and aripluric culture is the token singlet partner having a Google Doc to keep track of everybody and struggling so bad that everybody else has to have them just download Simply Plural so they doesn't explode from stress.
Ectoambi
Ectoambi is a romantic term for systems who are bodily ambiamorous, but polyamorous for their headmates!
The outer red and blue are derived from the original ambiamorous flag, and the inner colors are the muted intrapoly flag! (If anyone has a better name or flag idea, feel free to share or make your own version!)
Dear Anti-Endos
Get out of tags meant for endogenic systems.
“Why does endo stuff keep showing up on my tumblr” maybe because ur using plural tags. plurality is inherently a pro-endo term! hope this helps🩷
“B-b-b-but endos use medical terms!!!” wahhh wahh wahh. thats a completely separate issue and you know that buddy
“b-b-b-b-buttt i dont like endos!!!” okay then avoid them by not using their tags??
