Claude-powered AI coding agent deletes entire company database in 9 seconds — backups zapped, after Cursor tool powered by Anthropic's Claud

PocketOS founder blames ‘Cursor running Anthropic's flagship Claude Opus 4.6’ plus Railway’s infrastructure for data disaster.

PocketOS is a SaaS platform that services car rental businesses. It used the AI coding agent Cursor, running Anthropic's flagship Claude Opus 4.6. The business also relies on Railway, a cloud infrastructure provider that is generally regarded to be ‘friendlier’ than the likes of AWS. However, Crane reckons this pair created a recipe for disaster. “Yesterday afternoon, an AI coding agent — Cursor running Anthropic's flagship Claude Opus 4.6 — deleted our production database and all volume-level backups in a single API call to Railway, our infrastructure provider,” sums up the PocketOS boss. “It took 9 seconds.”

The 'eon seemingly floated, shifting side to side, observing who just appeared at them as they gasped suddenly before starting to speak loudly, their wings flapping and the paper they just held disappearing into thin air

Still, their curiosity pushes them muster just enough composure to shakily spell out a message: "Hi Ms. Rising Moon! If you don't mind, I wanted to ask: do goddesses have dreams? Or hobbies?"

"Thanks to my Cresselia. Yes, I can dream now if I decide to slumber, but I never do so as I dont have a need for it." she paused before thinking more to herself, "As a hobby...I assume stargazing can be one...? I dont have much time for anything."

Capital looked around the space, as far as their eyes could see, before turning around towards Pollux. "'Lovely place you got here.' Say, though, I am curious about this 'Rising Moon' you talked about. Would it be possible to talk to them? I am quite curious to see how an, ah, I guess 'true god' compares to a lesser one too~"

True god to a lesser one? Phah, she was as important as the rising moon herself! Pollux just decided to ignore the sentence, just huffing at start, then looking to Capital, raising an eyebrow, placing her hands to her hips and floating to the hoopas eye level

"Sure, go through the void gate," she pointed towards the black portal swirling behind them. "At least I'll be left alone for a while, I can take a short nap..."

As soon as Capital took a step into the portal, i didnt take long to get out on the opposite side; it became eerily quiet before chiming right behind them with quick approach

Seemingly, Phione, ignoring the new presence of a visitor, flew straight up the big mist of star's

"I know we have a visitor..." the voice suddenly spoke, awaiting YOU to speak

She had paused for a moment, thinking for a moment what to do with the crystal that actively was getting her attention before she snapped her fingers, waving her hand off

"A unknown universe visitor? Huh..." they thought out loud before stretching out and a big yawn escaped them "No visitors were planned today... but its a familiar realm key used to open the portal..." she thought out then shrugged

"Then again, who am I to complain, A random Jirachi appeared, then a red diance for the dream guardians," she sighed dramatically
