Charles might not have any more direct experience than Erik, but he does have a telepath’s mind full of accidentally picked-up fantasies and memories, as well as knowledge of a few dirty books - and more importantly, he’s been madly in love with Erik for years. This seems like a brilliant, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that he can’t pass up.

pocky_slash is legendary in the XM fandom, and with good reason. I don’t think I’ve ever read a bad fic by them, and I’ve read a lot of their fics.
This is similar to another fic I recommended, where it deals with Erik as a teacher at the Institute, and in this one the balance is still kind of tenuous. When Charles disappears, Erik turns to Moira. Discovering she’s far more capable than he gave her credit for, he takes her along.
It’s a fun ride the entire way, seeing how these two transform from allies-by-necessity to reluctant-partners. This is one of my top 10 fanfics of all time, and trust me: I’ve read a lot of fanfics.
