Meowth Reference All The Way
Well, can you blame him Meowth is probably a favorite of villains who grew up with Pokemon.
Okay, I have to ask: Did anyone else get an extra laugh out of last night's Pokémon references because, by total coincidence, you JUST started playing Pocket Mortys again yesterday? 🤣🤣🤣 Because I did!!!
I haven't played in about a month. But last night it got to be around 9:30 and I was just like, "Today was long and I don't have enough braincells to work on my fic right now. But if I keep sitting here cuddled up with a kitty, not really doing anything, I won't stay awake for the new episode."
So Pocket Mortys was the perfect solution: required less braincells than working on fic, would help me stay awake & had added bonus of staying cuddled with kitty. ❤️ So I opened the game & played 'til new episode time... and laughed hysterically when Rick revealed he was keeping Bigfoot in a Pokéball. Don't even get me started on the "Popéball" , because I am cackling again typing that. 😂
Another read at your own risk story (wrote this on an airplane)
I stared intensely into my mug at the murky brown drink that swished inside. My heart felt like it was going to burst, and the coffee wasn’t helping. But he said he liked coffee. I wished I hadn’t asked him to meet. I was early enough that I could leave, but I felt like I was glued to my seat.
I got excited when his photo popped up in my moots days prior. I had about given up hope on the whole online dating thing, but his black eyes that were hidden by those sharp glasses, his rosy cheeks, and his kind of goofy ears drew me in…I felt that he really could be it, the one.
The doors swooshed open. My head flung up to see him enter.
There he was…Pikachu Man.
My breath caught in my throat. I couldn’t believe I was doing this. I wanted to run. But I couldn’t take my eyes off him. He looked around for me; our eyes met.
That moment felt like an eternity. He slowly approached. I wanted to rush up to him and say something breathtakingly beautiful, but I wanted to shrink away, too.
“Op? Hi…” he said and sat down across from me.
“Y-Yes, hi, Pikachu Man.”
“I was beginning to think I wasn’t going to have any luck with that dating site. I about deleted Tumblr from my phone,” he smiled. “I’m so glad you chose me…I mean, chose to ask me out.”
“Yeah, I’m sorry I was on anon for so long,” I replied.
“Truth be told…I sent an anon to your blog a long time ago, too. It was the one that went, ‘Prepare for trouble…’”
“Make it double!” I added, instantly remembering it.
His expression was so blank, but I felt like he was surprised.
“To protect the world from devastation…” he continued.
“To unite all people within our nation,” I smiled.
“To denounce the evils of truth and love.”
“To extend our reach to the stars above.”
“Jessy.”
“James.”
“Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light.”
“Surrender now, or prepare to fight.”
“Meowth, that’s right,” he finished repeating the ask. I stared at him waiting for him to say something, anything. “Wow, good memory,” was all he replied.
“It’s a hard one to forget…It made me catch feelings. I mean when am I not catching feelings? Gotta catch them all, I’m sorry, I’m rambling…I’m really nervous.”
“I was too, but I’m not anymore,” he reassured me and grabbed my hand. “Because I think you might be the very best thing to ever happen to me.”
“Y-You do? I…this going to be the best relationship there ever was, couldn't it?” I asked with a smile, suddenly feeling very at ease.
