Pole burns is real
i laughed and slid down the pole
So I attempted a superman tonight and for those of you who don't know, imagine a fitness superman hold on the ground, now put that a few feet off the ground and holding onto a pole with just your thighs. Its so painful and now I have pole burn on my inner thighs :/ but I can't believe I tried it!
Pinwheels and Martinis anyone?
So I went to my intro class this morning, a lot of the girls dropped from the course today so it was just me an one other girl. It was a little more private lesson like which made me feel more comfortable. It had come to the point where just doing my routine was not enough. I was so hungry for more and I pushed my instructor to give me the work out I wanted. Normally we don't wear the heels in class until much much later. I wore them today and got to practice my spinning!! So excited. Holy crap did that make the work out that much more intense! It added a bit of difficulty due to the height adjustment but boy did I get used to that quick and soon not even the heels were enough.
I couldn't help myself, so I asked her about moving up to level one and what all was needed to start doing that. I demonstrated my spins from intro then let her know that I was also able to do the Martini spin *which is a level one spin* I showed her that spin and she seemed excited for me. She offered up a new spin to try, the pinwheel. I was thrilled! Something to help push me along after only attending three intro classes! *equivalent to three hours*
She demonstrated foot placement, grip and how to have my other foot stretched out. Wasn't so graceful doing the first pin wheel, the sharp heel of my foot closest to the pole cut up my knee and I kind of plopped onto the ground when I finished but I didn't give up. I tried a few more times, need a bit more strength to hold my legs parallel to the floor but I'm getting the hang of it. Not to mention I tried in heels *she said it's easier to practice barefoot which I'll start doing Now that I am in Level ONE!!!!!!
So excited!!! Not to mention after class I went to sign myself up for the 'All access monthly pass' which means I can do any class, any time I want and I get special notice about up and coming workshops as well as special discounts on them! I also bought the black heels they were selling specially for Valentines day.... oh the Uber excitement!!!
I can't get enough and thankfully now I don't have to wait a full week to attend just one course. I'm taking chair fitness Monday, pole play on Friday, and both Barre and Level One Pole on Saturday. Hooked on fitness and I feel so good when doing it.
I cannot stress enough how doing this form of fitness has been helping regain the confidence that I've lost. It's a process that only you can help yourself with by wanting it and I'm starving for what I've lost. I am here to offer a friendly boost if needed. Just remember you are equally worth it and you can achieve anything you set your mind to. Never give up on yourself.
Ow fuck. Pole burn on my upper thigh.
Makes clothes wearing problematic.
How did I not know this was occurring at the time?
