PUNGLI (part 1)

Ada yang pernah jadi korban pungli? Seminggu ini saya kepikiran terus soal pengalaman saya minggu lalu yang jadi korban pungli di instansi pemerintah.

Ceritanya, tahun lalu saya beli motor bekas dan bulan September ini pajaknya habis sehingga saya harus mengurus balik nama sekaligus membayar pajaknya. Untuk itu saya harus melakukan cabut berkas di Samsat asal di mana motor saya terdaftar di situ. Lalu saya harus mengurus mutasi dan membuat lagi BPKP dan STNK atas nama saya di Samsat yang sesuai dengan alamat KTP saya.

Jujur saja, saya cukup puas dengan keramahan petugas di sana. Namun, ada yang membuat saya masygul: PUNGLI! (Pungli: pungutan liar)

Kenapa saya yakin bahwa ini adalah pungli?

One of the perks of quarantine is having some time to catch up on your faves, and playing catch up is totally what we are doing. 

Apparently, during Fall 2019, Femcee (and queen of whisper hip hop?) Kilo Kish, released an amazing single “Bite Me” for her Redux EP, and we totally slept on it! Imagine that. Hopefully, our queen forgives us for our unbelievable misconduct. 

Anyways, although we are late to the party, we are glad to be here because ’Bite Me’ is a must-hear bop. In the past few weeks, we’ve been religiously listening to this song anytime we’ve found ourselves in a car or by a speaker with good bass. 

When Kilo says, “When I roll down my window [and hear] all those words from your mouth, [it makes] me wanna run back. Finna run back, straight in the house,” we feel that in our soul because anytime we go outside and hear the trash 45′s minions regurgitate, we really do wanna run back home and stay inside forever. Our queen been knew! We stan a prophetess. 

Apart from the outstanding lyrics, rhythm, and visuals, we are obsessed with this song because of how Kilo effortlessly blends hip-hop, house, and indie-rock in a way only Kilo can. Her genre versatility is unmatched and impressive. 

In summary, we will be listening to the Redux EP back to back, throughout April. And you should totes join us! But first, listen to Bite Me’ and tell us what you think.
