this is about queer movements shouting down specific concerns by trans people, trans women especially, queer people of color, really any group that might have intergroup history or power structures that don't stop existing because we're all queer here. this is also about leftist organizing that asks people to leave at the door their struggle for equality of race, gender, sexuality, etc and commit to class struggle only.
unity requires deep solidarity and understanding. you will never achieve a unified front by telling the people inside it to shut up
Satine was not surprised in the least that Ben's plan to add himself to the battle got her dragged out of their bunkroom and parked in the corner of the command center where Weves and her assistants (on internal comms and clearly coordinating the people on the ground) could keep a close eye on her.
What was unexpected was the way they visibly altered their judgment of her, just based on Ben's capacity for violence.
