A conversation between new acquaintances!

So @bluebrush09arts and I got to talking about how Rori’s new pattern makes her somewhat resemble Flintlock, and we talked about how they might react to each other if our AUs were to cross paths. Buckskin coats aren’t a common thing either one of them sees in their travels, we reckoned, so if they were to bump into each other while at port, that’s something they’d both notice. Also Rori would be checking a wanted board for posters of herself or her crewmates, and Flint might be checking out the same board, or something. 

TL;DR they run into each other, start a very awkward conversation, and eventually reach a comfortable chat level for each of them. Wherein Flint learns a little of how she was pressganged into piracy with a dread crew, and the included dialogue swings around. Rori politely declines the out, citing that while her crew are incredibly scary and it’s stressful, that somehow she does feel safe enough there to stay. We imagine that the two talk long enough while the two ships are at port to become almost-friends and part ways amicably. Also I just wanted to draw the two soft sailing horses having a nice conversation because these two both need a break. x3

Pony!Rori Refsheet, 2020 edition~

I decided to try giving Rori’s pony form some other markings besides her blaze and socks! And uh.... It stuck. xD It stuck hard. I don’t know what it is about buckskin points, but it makes her feel a little more grown up and mature. Also it’s cute~ <3 I did try to draw her wings like a songbird’s wings in shape, since they’re pretty aerobatic compared to larger birds. It’s something that I always considered a key point in her design, but I like diverse pegasi. lol

A page of doodles of some of my OCs~

I decided to give Rori’s pony version an update and make her a pretty buckskin instead of a plain golden yellow horse. It’s stuck so well that it’s going to be permanent. x3 The sketch off to the top right is what would happen if my wild mage/ice sorcerer Soren met my anti-magic thief/swashbuckler Qirani. Soren is highly dependent on her magic, almost to an instinctive level. Qirani, on the other hand, does not appreciate magic or magic users at all.  Under that is a design I was toying with for an OC I’d forgotten about but recently reminded myself that she exists. A high elf x wood elf combat caster gal named Alaena Galathen, retainer for and lover of the Captain of the Guard for a high-elven capital city.

Bottom left is a wing-arms-crossed unimpressed pony!Vess, and to the right of that is what would happen if Vess and Soren met. Shadows moving on their own, and ice creeping up limbs. Intriguing to both of them, though shadow magic is more unsettling for Soren than ice is for Vess. lol

I gotta get some new and updated refsheets out for these gals.

Let's go with Rori and Moon Blaze. I think they might have some interesting interactions if they crossed paths.

Moon Blaze is like... A very wholesome mombat vampony. Very matronly. So if she and Rori were to meet, it would seem almost like Blazie is trying to gain the trust of a feral cat. And in a way, she is. Rori's always wary of other vampires, and Blazie would be no exception.

But with a bit of time and always a warm smile from the bat, Rori would be able to sense that there is no duplicitous intent in Blaze, thereby opening up enough to approach of her own accord. And eventually, Moon Blaze would offer a permanent residence in the Argent Sanctuary for the rogue. Whether or not Rori would accept the offer for longer than a month or two remains to be seen.

Vamptober: Day 9

Pony!Rori gets an interesting ability as an Oakheart-lineaged vampony: She can Detect Vampire at will. It makes her an excellent vampony hunter; zero instances of mistaken identity. Other hunters may call it cheating, but Rori simply calls it “well-equipped”. She can spot a vampony in a crowd without fail.

Talking with Blu brought up Rori’s canon ability to know a vampire and their lineage by sight, and how it would make her a great hunter, and prompted my mind onto SotN-adherent Rori and what she would do and/or be. So here we are! And I have learned that lamellar armor is a challenge! xD

More pirate-pony!AU~ 

Pacifist bat boy and timid rogue this time. c: Least intimidating members of The Charon’s crew, they’re not exactly aboard by choice. Or at least not fully by their own choices.  Chiro got himself shanghaied by hanging around and chatting up a couple of the crewmembers. I’m not completely sure what he said that gave them the idea to spirit him away onto the boat, but he’s kind of regretted opening his big mouth ever since. The regret’s faded over time but it still speaks up every now and again. As for Rori, she was on her way to start anew again, and stowed away aboard The Charon. Had she been paying more attention instead of being preoccupied with avoiding someone tailing her through a pirate-heavy port, she would have realized the ship for what it was. The Charon was about half a day underway when the Quartermaster sniffed her out below deck. She was pulled from her hiding place, questioned about her presence and relevant skills, and managed to talk her way into doing navigations. She’s been nervous about hunters catching up ever since then, but The Charon seems safe enough -if manned by some rather scary crew- for her to sort of relax. Only sort of; she’s still pretty high-strung.

Pony!Rori Refsheet 2018 edition~ Skittish recovered-abuse-victim vampire’s horse version needed an update, too! Just a hoof color update for miss Rori here, though~ Been a while since I’ve drawn her, though I intend to change that soon with more than a ref update.

A thanks to @bluebrush09arts for making the choice on the hoof color for me some time ago with a fanart. c: So yeah, a long-overdue style and slight design update!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

These were quick little things I whipped together in the spirit of the season since I don’t have a ton of time to draw right now. x3 

Rori being adorbs in her sweater, and Species Shift looking quite confused at wearing one at all since he becomes a fluffball during wintertime.
