Virgil as a 16 year old with an adopted dad (Thomas) making a deal with an otherworldly demon (Remus) to find his real parents and meeting Janus, who takes him to meet-

-Roman! Or Victoria Rose, Trans!fem in life. gender confusion, who's she? Oh yeah, she's me. Not a girl, not a guy, something else? Who knows. Born a twin, his brother was stillborn (Remus, there's so much lore here I can not get into rn)

Roman transitioned to get his parents to love her, it half-worked. She's not a girl, nor a guy, he's basically his universes Marliyn Monroe if she threw herself off a yacht in the middle of rough water never to be seen again.

Roman's gender identity is that she doesn't have one. They/them pronouns mightve saved his life, but in death she tends to just roll with whatever he's called. Most people see the boobs and go woman. He does ask Janus to call him Roman though. Victoria Rose was a name his mother picked out.

Virgil meets Patton and Logan when they're talking to Roman (Patton was a big fan of Victoria Rose's music and play work) and they tag along on his quest to find his parents because Logan recognizes the name Thomas Sanders (though he can't place where, because underworld is brain fog to the max)

Turns out, Logan and Patton are Virgil's bio parents (shocker, I know) and then they have to somehow get a still living Virgil out of the underworld because Remus never thought Virgil would actually make good on his end of the deal, and Remus wants to keep Virgil's soul

Also Virgil is alive in this (technically) it's very complicated
