China has a rule for internet pop-up ads: they must show a clear close button and let people close the ad in one click. The rule also bans tricks like hidden close signs, fake close buttons, countdown waits, or making users click two or more times to leave the ad.

✨ CSS popups (no JavaScript)

Some basic CSS popups I put together by utilizing <⁠l⁠a⁠b⁠e⁠l⁠ ⁠f⁠o⁠r⁠=⁠"⁠.⁠.⁠.⁠"⁠> and <⁠i⁠n⁠p⁠u⁠t⁠ ⁠t⁠y⁠p⁠e⁠=⁠"⁠r⁠a⁠d⁠i⁠o⁠"⁠> combinations together with its :checked state to mimic a <⁠d⁠i⁠a⁠l⁠o⁠g⁠> in its open/showModal() state.

Unlimited popups

Only 1 popup can be open/active at a time

Clicking outside the popup box will close all popups.

popup/buttons fix | photosets not appearing

hi! my codes have been updated so if you're having issues with the popups/dropdowns on my themes you can either redownload the code or do this quick fix! directions under the cut

please note: while the codes have been updated, the theme previews may not display correctly, i'm in the process of redoing those too

in the code search for jquery/1.7.1 and find the line highlighted below:

add the following line above this:

<script src="//code.jquery.com/jquery-3.7.1.min.js" integrity="sha256-/JqT3SQfawRcv/BIHPThkBvs0OEvtFFmqPF/lYI/Cxo=" crossorigin="anonymous"></script>

replace the quotation marks, they should be straight and not curly

if this does not work (and the quotation marks are straight) delete the jquery 1.7.1 line in the screenshot above

example: in the image below, the straight quotes are underlined and the curly one is circled in red

photosets not appearing issue:

if your code does not have the jquery 1.7.1 line and older photoset images are not showing up add the jquery 1.7.1 line back

i don’t currently have a fix for both unfortunately as the issue seems to be with jquery/tumblr

Anyone else have Tumblr randomly try to open up links to shady gaming sites? I'm not clicking on ads when it happens, and I keep blocking the sites that pop up, but it's a new one every time. Virus scan came back clean, app is fully updated, and it's only when browsing Tumblr that it happens
