Put waterboy in the vat of acid i need more angst I need him to snap i need him being kidnapped by villain for whatever reason I👏need👏waterboy-centric 👏angst 👏
HOLY??? HOLY??? ANON, ANON, I SEE YOUR VISION!! OKAY OKAY I NEED TO BREATHE FOR A SEC anon you cooked AND I WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THIS FIC IDEA :3
ahem. angst, and it can also be a liiiitlleeee triggering, you'll be warned...ehehe
this isn't medically correct in any way, don't harass me about this, i only did my research online, and it's probably not correct at all.
But first: this'll be sort of from experience
+drowning: (harsh, yeah, I know, it's kind of something he can control but now he can't control it in any way)
-he struggles, he starts panicking because he can't fucking breathe in the acid at all
-some of the acid get drunk at some point
-he's not just panicking, he's biologically panicking too (yes, science, our brains detect whatever the acid has and panics while trying to fight back)
-his heart rate starts spiking up, literally, it's not a good feeling it feels like blood started deciding to rush in the ears
-a huge amount of adrenaline release, because fuck, he's fighting for his life, sort of
-his thoughts become a little too chaotic and fragmented, but it mostly consists of I can't breathe, and I need to breathe
-he becomes slightly irrational, sort of flailing in the acid, good thing he's kind of mostly leaking water to be able to, uh, rot
-that thought definitely doesn't help though
-he tries to scream at some point, but he can't
+Air Hunger:
-he feels a crushing pressure in his chest
-his lungs starts burning
-and a sense that his body is screaming from the inside
-his diaphragm makes involuntary spasms, like violent hiccups.
-He physically cannot stop trying to inhale, even if he knows it will pull in acud.
- he feels like he's being suffocated from the inside and like his body is trying to escape itself
+disorientation :3
-As oxygen drops, his vision tunnels or darkens, sounds become muffled or distorted, and time feels strange (either slowed or fragmented)
- he feels lightheaded and detached from his body, like he's fading or slipping
-His muscle control weakens. -Movements become slow and clumsy.
+Near-unconsciousness
-Right before blackout, his panic gives way to confusion, his thoughts become dreamlike, and has a strange calm or floating sensation
-It’s the brain failing from lack of oxygen. (He's not okay)
+Acid time!!
-Strong acids don’t “burn” like fire. They chemically destroy tissue by denaturing proteins.
-The sensation is more like intense chemical attack than heat.
He starts feeling extreme stinging; sharp, penetrating pain; and a feeling that something is wrong at a fundamental level
-His nervous system fires pain signals instantly.
-It feels deep, not superficial like his body is being actively rejected
-his body goes through massive nerve stimulation then nerve dysfunction
-So the experience often shifts from: Blazing pain → numbness → distorted sensation
-It feels like tingling, electrical sensations, and he loses his normal touch perception
-His mind reacts with shock, dissociation and a sense of unreality
-His brain also feels overwhelmed, fragmented, like it can’t process what’s happening (trauma response)
So this is basically what he goes through:
•Total sensory overload
•Panic layered on panic
•Body screaming for oxygen while nerves fire chaotic signals
•Loss of coherent thought
•Rapid mental shutdown
+oh, and he also got abducted, so let's add that to the angst factor
-he feels fear, and anger
-Literally, all of the things that made him nice were gone because all of rational thought went out of the window
-He's still disoriented, mentally exhausted
-but the anger overwhelms the tiredness
-he didn't think about what he was doing wrong, all he cared about was that it hurt, and it hurt bad
-he didn't care whether the person who decided to abduct him was bleeding, he felt like they deserved it
-he threw punches, blood rushing through his ears as he used the body as a punching bag, he felt like it wasn't enough, so, he did what he had to
-they say that what doesn't makes you stronger, maybe it was true
-Because he barely thought about it until the body started screaming, wailing in agony after he sprayed acid onto his body
-had he done that, did he control acid? He couldn't tell, and he didn't care, he just wanted them to hurt, like he did
-we was crying, he couldn't help it, he was human anyway, he's allowed to feel pain, salty, wet tears fall to the wounds of whatever was left of them, and maybe he heard another scream, he didn't know, he just wanted out, and maybe, this was going to be his way out
-He's tired. He's tired and he's going to pass out. And he does.
-he doesn't wake up, exhausted, his body feels sluggish and heavy, but he tries, eyes cracking open, and flinching at the bright light
-its a room, he realizes, is he in a hospital? Probably not, but he blinks blearily, noting slight burns on his skin, and a very noticeable IV bag.
-he gets the urge to rip it off, but he doesn't, fearing that he'll just waste someone else's time, fixing what he broke
-he remembers what he did after a moment of just staring at the ceiling. He knows he shouldn't have done that, and now he feels bad, no, he feels horrible.
-he didn't..kill them, right? He's supposed to be a hero, he knows he could've hurt them and he still did it
-He's a horrible person, he thinks, spiraling into the darkness as he realizes everything wrong about this and that
-it only goes for so long until loud, voices, definitely from the other side of the door, unlocks loudly, and suddenly, he isn't alone anymore, coming back from his thoughts
-its the others, he realizes, why would they even come over? This should be a waste of time for them
-he barely hears what they say to him, but he smiles, the usual loud and chaotic way they carried themselves, even if it was with a tad bit of concern, was almost endearing
-he shouldn't have worried them, his brain supplies, suddenly ruining his mood, not now, later!
-they ask how he's feeling in their chaotic, Z-team way, and he smiles, says he's fine, even if it was a lie at the moment, and let himself stare as they ate their lunch.
-their...lunch, so they didn't eat yet
-he opens his mouth, about so say something, until they completely shut him down with a "we're eating here, wetwipeboy"
-and he can't actually force them out, they won't listen anyway, not that he would force them out
-its still nice to know that they care, even if they're probably only doing this because he's a part of the team, and don't want to do their jobs
-but he soon realizes that they almost killed his abductor...huh, go figure
-maybe that's what helps him rest until he gets discharged, only he'd know
-a few days later, when he finally does get discharged, he goes back to his shift, as usual
-the team was just as loud as they usually are, talking about plans for the night, and whatever else they could be talking about
-he feels oddly happy, he can be useful, almost
-until one of them asks him what he did to 'the guy' because apparently they looked so fucked up their words, because they decided that his abductor doesn't deserve an actual good nickname, or a real one at that
-he laughs nervously, and tries to avoid the question, it lasts until break, and he's kind of disappointed
-he does explain, though, stuttering out mumbled words with the main idea being 'acid' and 'punches'
-surprisingly, they're proud of him for that, even if he isn't, but maybe he shouldn't be surprised, given their background
-hes just glad they don't see him as someone he isn't (unless he is)
°+: YOU MADE ME RESEARCH FOR THIS, ANON, (and I kinda had to find some experiences from my past) THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR PULLING THIS IDEA FROM WHATEVER INFESTED YOUR BRAIN AND THANK YOUUUUUU FOR THE ASK!! (Also Robert is there, I just didn't mention him) This is also probably the longest post I've made recently, and I'm pretty rusty, so...forgive me!!
