haymitch tearing up when baby willow calls him grandpa (or grappa) for the first time and immediately deciding he'll give up drinking for good🥺🫶🏻

They just start collecting animals haha! :D I actually do headcanon them as having another cat (I have affectionally christened her Cottontail) after Buttercup passes and I think at some point Katniss acquires (not sure how; maybe Effie sends a puppy?) a hunting dog (redbone coonhound is where I sit on that one). I definitely think they start to slide towards the farmsteading vibe (though they still get a lot of things from in town, not going completely off the grid, because being an accepted part of the community is important for them and their children).

odesta headcanons🔱🌊

in an odesta mood bc they deserved so much better🥺

finnick uses a lot of petnames for annie. his personal favorite is "seashell", among the most common ones

they have 2 kids: ray and ocean

he calls them his "little oysters"

annie takes them for a swim every day

finnick surfs. he's always bragging about how good he is. the worst thing is that it's true

they take their kids with them when katniss and peeta get married

haymitch lets ray take a ride on the youngest goose, making finnick freak out

johanna pranks finnick by throwing baby ocean up in the air

katniss then takes them to the lake

when it's their birthday, peeta bakes little cakes for ray and ocean. the icing has to be the exact color they ask. if he has to get up early, he will

ray bonds with the youngest goose, and pleads his parents to let him take him with them

"pwease, mama? I'll take care of him, I pwomise."

"you'll have to ask uncle haymitch, don't you think?"

"uncle 'aymish! can I keep him, pwease?"

haymitch doesn't have the heart to say no, but he looks at finnick and annie for their approval

"sorry, kid. he's still young, he needs his mama. and so do you," he chuckles. "but I promise you this: when he grows up, he's yours. in the meantime, you can all come visit. how's that sound?"

"aw…" ray pouts.

"we'll be back, I promise you, little oyster," finnick reassures him.

finnick and annie take their kids everywhere. they wouldn't be able to part without them

they'd have picnics at the shore every weekend

annie teaches ocean to swim, while finnick does so with ray

they'd do a braiding train, where finnick braids annie's long red hair while she braids ocean's long bronze hair, who braids ray's shoulder-length red hair

canonically, they have 2 kids. but I'm sure they'd get addicted lmaoo

since it took her 5, 10, 15 years, I'm guessing around 32. plus, her cycle wouldn't be a regular one bc of her lack of regular alimentation.

oh, about 2 or 3 years apart.

willow/pearl and rye/wheat (what even are those names istg)

I think both kids know how to sing and paint, but the gray-eyed blond boy's voice is just✨✨✨ and the blue-eyed brunette girl draws a lot, and she's quite good!! both Katniss and Peeta encourage them to follow their dreams🥰🫶🏻
