Vee's End Update Pt. 12 - End Ruins
End Ruins are small structures in the End Barrens biome, about comparable in size and frequency to Ocean Ruins. Much like them, they can generate as small individuals or larger 'clusters' of 2-3. Made completely out of Ender Siltstone blocks, with a dash of Choral growing over it, they will blend into the terrain until you get closer to one.
Found all along the ground of the End Ruins is Suspicious Ender Silt, which if you brought a brush with you to the End, you can brush to obtain some loot! You'll find things commonly found in the end (like Chorus Fruit, Ender Pearls, Choral), some things found elsewhere but not in this dimension (like Copper, Lapis, Amethyst, Blaze Powder, Nether Wart, etc.), and some unique treasure that we'll get into later, including some new unique pottery sherds! Why are there ceramic pottery sherds in a dimension without Clay? Who's to say!
There are also chests in this structure, which can hook you up with things like End Reeds, Copper Ingots, Feathers, Beetroots and some other treasure like enchanted books and enchanted iron armor. The important thing is that you do have all the materials to make a Brush here, just in case you forgot one! This is the End's main source of Copper, in the same way end cities have tons of iron, gold, diamonds & emeralds.
So yeah, a structure for the End Barrens! Enjoy excavating this lost and bizarre archaeological find, but be warned, the Enderfish will have plenty of time to track you down while you sit still brushing through the silt. Best keep to the Choral and Siltstone as best you can!
It may be a small structure, but don't worry, this is not the only structure I plan on adding to the End. This is just a small treat for exploring the End Barrens!

Neolithic pottery sherds from China reveal alcoholic beverage production techniques
A team of researchers from Stanford University, Zhengzhou University, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Shaanxi Provincial Institute of Archaeology has learned more about the ways Neolithic people in China made alcoholic beverages by studying pottery sherds from that era. In their paper published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, the group describes their study of residue left behind on fragments of pottery.
Human beings have been making alcoholic beverages for approximately 13,000 years, and they have been doing it in different ways depending on what resources they had available to them—the people living in Neolithic China, in what is now the Wei River Valley, had rice, millet and several other ingredients that allowed them to make fermented beverages. In this new effort, the researchers have found evidence showing that people made alcoholic beverages in at least two ways. Read more.
