Missing all of him.

Colin ritman with his wife- who takes a break from work and..him along with their daughter, Alice because of his prone to madness and snapping.

You and Colin have been married for 9 years now. At the start of both of your ‘proper’ relationship, in 1982, Colin was going through a tougher time with his new “game” and you were there for him through all of it. he proposed to you early 1985- not long after the new intern at Tuckersoft was arrested for murdering his father over bandersnatch- a game that was shut down not long after its creation.

You ended up eloping in late that year and you’ve both been together since.

You were a model for the games produced at his work. Your face is on most of the posters, leaflets and logos for the games and your known as the “face of Tuckersoft.” You met back in 1980 when he specifically asked for you to be the face of one of his games. And it was in 1980 that you started to ‘shag’

He’s had..a couple of slip-ups in his life, acts of “craziness” and there was even a time when he had to step away from his work to calm down and go sane again.

It almost cost him your marriage and his daughter, who you both had in 1990, Alice. He loves you both deeply and always has and promised that- if he went back to work- he wouldn’t fall back into his usual tendency to loose the plot.

But..he did. And this meant you decided to go on a break- which killed him a little bit inside but he understood. You had some ground rules- like little to no contact until you were ready and no cheating of course..

He would come to pick up Alice on Fridays and she’d stay with him in his apartment until Sunday. That was the only time he saw you really..

Now, he’s back at Tuckersoft and he has his own, personal office at the back of the floor you both once thrived in. He’s matured greatly- physically..and mostly, mentally.

He still has his challenging and intriguing personality, but he’s taller now and he’s let his hair grow out a little bit- still its usual dyed white but it’s better than nothing. And he’s started to dress slightly more professionally around the office..all for you. He even changed how he dressed.

He’s desperate to get you back. Sooner or later.

It’s been one month since and he’s in his office- it’s a Tuesday and he’s working on some code. He sighs in boredom as he picks up his coffee and takes a sip, gently putting it back down when he’s done.

When- suddenly, Thakur bursts into the room. “Colin-”

He jumps and brings one hand to his desk- turning to glare at his boss- “what did I say about knock-”

“Y/ns on her way. Now! She called me and asked if she could pay you a little visit! No Alice either-!"

Colin’s heart races- he immediately looks around the room and now messy his office is, how many papers are on the desks and coffee mugs and cups there are- even some on the floor-

“Clean up- I’ll stall her when she gets here, fix your hair too-” he leaves the office, closing the door quickly as he does-

Colin’s jaw clenches in annoyance at his comment but he quickly begins to fix the messy locks with one hand whisky the other begins to get the papers stacked, now stood up as he zips around the room, waning everything to be perfect for when you come up- fuck why are you even here?!

Five minutes later- there’s a small knock at the door and he freezes- three mugs in one hand and a pot of pens on the other one..he pits the pot next to his keyboard and walks quickly towards the door, putting the mugs on the smaller desk just next to it.

He takes a deep breath and scans the room one last time..before he opens the door.

You honesty have no idea why your even doing this- you were at the coffee shop- casually minding your own business after dropping Alice of at school -and someone..hit on you. It made you realise, even though the guy was definitely your type, he just isn’t the same as Colin..and that you missed your husband more than you ever thought you could.

It’s been a couple of days since you last saw him- so you thought- ahh not check in on him? And after buying two coffees instead of one, you called his boss to make sure he was in work and you were in your car, heading for Tuckersoft before you know it.

After- a slight hassle with Thakur getting across the room, you reach his office..and you knock gently on the door, awkwardly holding onto the coffee cup as you do ..a couple of seconds go by- and your first thought is, what if he ignores me? Is he mad at me-?

His eyes meet yours and that panic you felt washes away in an instant.

He looks at you for a second or two..“hi…your here.” God, you’ve missed that nerdy accent. You look him up and down (not so) casually and you can’t help but feel a sense of relief at how put together he seems to be.

“Yes..I am..sorry- I probably shouldn’t just turn up like this..but- I have coffee?..” you hold up your left hand that has his coffee- one sugar, one milk pouch in it, the way he likes it. -in it.

“No- it’s fine-” He quickly moves to the side to let you in. He looks over to Thakur, hopping to get a thumbs up of encouragement- but he’s met with his “boss” smirking and making slight hip movements to him. Colin flips him off without a second thought and closes the door.

He stares at the lock for a second or two, uncertain wether he should lock it or not..he gets flashbacks to when he used to lock the door without a second thought, just to smash his lips onto your moments later as he guided you towards the table, the way your hand went to his belt-

He turns the lock. He’s quiet about it- but as he finishes he turns to you and puts his lips together in a slightly awkward smile as he takes the coffee..

You look him up and down once again as he takes it- he’s..so hot. God, even after everything he’s done, he just speaks to you.

“Thank you..” he mumbles as he takes a sip- just how he likes it..“so..what’s with the surprise visit? Not that I don’t like having you here- but it’s not Friday and Alice isn’t with you. Did something happen-?”

Your eyes widen slightly and you shake your head quickly- “nonono- no, don’t worry- she’s just in school.” You let out a slightly awkward breathy laugh, turning to look at his office.

He relaxes slightly at that..but it still doesn’t explain why you’re here. “Right..”

You take in how..clean it is. Is he really getting better? “I erm..I don’t even…fully know why I’m here..if I’m behind honest.” You slowly walk towards his desk and you move so your sat on it, putting your coffee cup on the wood next to you. “Ive had a couple of bad days..so after dropping Alice off I went to get coffee- just to have a chilled rest of the day, right?”

You keep your eyes on your lap..and he admires how you look sat on his desk like that- all pretty and just..here.

He’s confused though..are you here for a therapy session to to see him? “Yeah?..” he stays rooted where he is, making sure there’s some distance between the two of you. Like you asked.

“And then a guy..hit on me.” Your eyebrows furrow slightly. “And he was my type- glasses, the hair- the eyes..but he wasn’t..you.” You look at him for the first time since your little rant.

He looks at you for a couple of seconds- an almost unreadable expression on his face..a hint of jealousy, of course- a touch of confusion..but mostly relief.

“I miss you, col..” you admit gently..“and I didn’t realise how much I did..” you swallow slight, staring at him..“I miss us, okay? And Alice misses you too. After a couple of days of thinking I-”

“You miss me..or you miss my dick?” He cuts you off- tilting his head slightly at you.

“Huh?”

“Because to me..it sounds like you fancied this guy, but you knew you couldn’t sleep with him…because of your rule. And it’s been weeks now- weeks without any part of me..so you thought- ‘let’s go back to my husband’ and finally get shagged..” it’s obvious he’s only being half-sarcastic.

He doesn’t even realise he’s been walking closer to you- not until his thighs gently graze against your legs.

Your mind goes blank at his words- that’s not what was happening at all- of course you missed his fucking cock, but still-

Your lips part slightly- and he gently puts his hands on your legs, opening them slowly..when you don’t stop him he steps between them, your bodies now pressed together..

“I miss you..all, col.” you whisper, his face closer to yours than it has been in fucking ages..too long to cope..

“Missed you too, luv.” He leans in and presses his lips to yours, gently at first..

Until you kiss him back- that sets him off. His hands move to cup your face and he presses his tongue against your lips, it’s sloppy and desperate and you love it so fucking much.

You wrap your legs around his waist and bring him closer to you, your arms going around his neck as you move your lips against his.

He leans back and kisses down your neck, sucking harshly on the skin as he grinds his hips against yours, making you moan softly.

“Colin..” He leans back and looks at you for a couple of seconds. “needy thing” he mumbles before he leans back in, his hands moving to your jacket..

It’s safe to say- you came out of his office with messy hair and a slight limp. He moved back in days later.

Part One

**** 4 days earlier ****

Will was about to go off filming again, you can’t say you have gotten used to it by now. After that rather ‘interesting’ introduction to his family, you were surprised when they agreed to let you take him for his flight at 1 am. 

He’s going to be gone a proper 4 days,  you know you will miss the heck out of him. At the airport, he did anything and everything to make you laugh or at least smile, from ballet, jumps in front of everyone to lifting you up and spinning you around. he did get a giggle he knew would sustain him for his time away. You didn’t cry since you have been through this a dozen times but deep sadness did overcome you when he walked off pulling his suitcase behind him.

**** Now (4 days later) ****

It was 6 in the evening and you came directly from work

His sisters insisted on snuggling up on the couch and watching all kinds of nostalgia-inducing movies, chick flicks and even one horror movie which you are still not sure why you would do that to yourself after 11 in the night.

By midnight they were exhausted and headed to bed, pausing the horror movie halfway promising to finish it later on; something that probably will not happen.

You check the time and it’s not even 10:00 pm so you thought maybe you could stay up watching some of your favorite YouTubers, so you head back upstairs and into Will’s old room which Mrs. Poulter’s mom happily made for you.

You snuggle into Will’s bed which smells like him in every way and immerse your self in a comfy position with your laptop beside you.

A little past 11:30 pm, Will and his dad arrive from the airport; Will’s mom gives him a welcoming hug.

“Is she here?” Will asks setting down his suitcase. His mom nods “Upstairs. She said she wanted to head home as soon as you arrived.” Will nods in agreement and heads upstairs only to find you fast asleep with the laptop still playing youtube videos. 

He smiles to himself at how cute you looked with your hands tucked under your head. will slowly lower himself onto the bed and turns the laptop around to turn off the video, he closes the youtube tab and your twitter account was open, he wouldn’t be able to miss it even if he wanted to; countless amount of tweets on his relationship with you and as much as there was support there was twice as much of criticism.

This is why Will never formally introduced you, this is the kind of criticism he didn’t want you to have to deal with but paparazzi were sneaky and the press didn’t help one bit.

Will looks at you ‘if only they saw what I did’ he thought and lets out a little too loud sigh, your eyes flutter open.

“Will!” you exclaim upon seeing him, and immediately sit up, he closes the laptop and hugs you, holding you tight in his arms where you always felt safe.

“I’m sorry I didn’t mean to wake you,” he says softly almost whispering.

“No it’s o.....” a yawn comes right through without any warning you hold up your hand to your mouth “kay.....” you smile,

“You’re cute when you’re tired” he smiles, “hey so I was thinking...”

“That’s not healthy” 

He chuckles, “What if I finally shared you with my fans?”

“Uhhhhh.....” you have witnessed first hand how his fans can be and honestly it made you all kinds of nervous, maybe he couldn’t tell how nervous you are.

He can and he did. Will takes your hand and kisses it, “I just want them to see you the way I do, beautiful and perfect”

You felt your face go hot, you look down “Sure... if you’re okay with it then I am” you stand up and gather your things “I need to go to work in 5 hours so I should get home and get out of these clothes.”

“Alright, I love you”

You turn around “I love you too” you lean down to give him a kiss and he grabs your waist and pulls you down to the bed, you fall on your back giggling “Will!”

“Why hello there,” he says and gives you a sweet kiss on the lips, slow and filled with passion. 

Whenever you left his place, you left with a smile that didn’t fade even as you slept, during the 30-minute drive your phone had been blowing up notifications the whole time, so when you reached home you just had to see what all the commotion was about.

And there it was; another reason to smile.
