If you ever feel like "hmm this character has got to get more powerful and has to get a cooler color scheme" then I have an easy solution for you.
Put the character in a big ol' pool full of glowy super powerful goop. Maybe the goop just makes a character faster, stronger, and more alive. Maybe the goop also grants them shiny new weapons and armour. Or maybe the goop can just full-on overhaul and shift the characters colours and design into something different and cooler.
Oh, you could also use a beam of light to do the same thing or like some glowy magic crystals or weird coloured electricity, eh just whatever makes the most sense in your particular setting.
