FTH2022 Supported Organization: The Prison Policy Initiative

The United States has both the largest incarcerated population in the world and the largest number of incarcerated people per capita. Overall, there are roughly two million people in prisons and jails -- a 500% increase over the past 40 years. The living conditions of many of these prisons is deeply inhumane, and prisoners are routinely subjected to violence and denied access to basic care and necessities, including COVID vaccines and boosters.

The Prison Policy Initiative attacks the systemic problem of the carceral system from two directions: they produce cutting-edge research showing the damage our prison system is doing, and they start advocacy campaigns to change the laws and create a more just society.

In addition to bringing hard-to-find data into the public eye and producing analyses that highlight the problems in our system in a way that’s accessible to non-experts, the Prison Policy Initiative’s advocacy has accomplished the following things:

getting the FCC to lower the cost of calls home from prisons and jails

reducing prison-based gerrymandering gerrymandering (in which prison populations are often used to boost a district’s population without allowing the prisoners to vote) in nine states

helping several states pass laws to prevent prisons from completely replacing in-person visits with video calls

Hey thanks for the compliments. I usually keep my drabbles and fics to myself, but I really liked this one and wanted to share it with someone who is just as big of a fan of Kit as I am.

Also, I totally think of Kit as delicate and ethereal. I mean he is a total badass in personality, but Fairies are usually described as ethereal, and Kit takes after Rosemary, so I think he would look ethereal. I personally compare Fairie looks to glass. Like its sharp, but at the same time delicate.

Once again thanks for the compliments. Also, I have another Kitty fic (its a modern au, tho, in which they are all mere mortals, but no less beautiful) and it might have multiple parts with time skips, so tell me if you would like that and I will send it to you from the ask box.
