I dive deep into the growing conversation around menopause and the complex physical changes women experience during their 40s.
It is an absolute gorgeous day out, but I am really struggling. It is taking all of my strength and energy not to crawl back in bed, not because I am tired even though I am, but because my depression is showing it’s ugly head. I can not share how I feel. I must keep a brave and smiling face. I tried to make conversation with my 14 year old but she is in a bad mood and doesn’t want any part of me. My 9 year old isn’t home yet, but was freaking out over homework this morning, so she is guaranteed to be in a fantastic mood. My husband when I try and tell him I’m having a bad day, doesn’t understand. “What do you have to be stressed about,” he asks (I am currently a stay at home mom). Then we get into a huge argument about how much he does and how much stress and pressure he is under, and my stress is made to be less significant. I then feel guilty for feeling this way. So in order to not go through that I will remain silent, and put on a happy face. I am so self conscious that my family and friends outside of my husband do not know of my diagnosis therefore I can not talk to an NYC them either. I’m feeling sad, alone and mentally exhausted.
Ah, my 40s. The decade where I play the exciting new game:
Panic Attack or Hot Flash?
And its bonus round: Bout of Insomnia!

What could be scarier than 12 uteri?
My menstrual cycle started just now? Huh? Why? How? Wha? I've had no symptoms, no cramps, no headache, nothing!
Also, it's like a week early???
We do not care ... meeting.
Absolutely! Here's a refined version of your message, tailored for posting—whether on social media, a blog, or a professional platform like LinkedIn:
Why Is No One Talking About This?
This has been one of the most emotionally confusing times of my life. I can’t even trust my own feelings anymore. It’s been a rollercoaster—emotionally, mentally, and professionally.
I’ve lost work relationships. I’m struggling to stay productive. My enthusiasm is gone. Even my mannerisms are changing, and I feel safest when I’m alone.
If this is what premenopause feels like, why aren’t we talking about it more openly?
Why isn’t this taught in schools? Why don’t HR departments or wellness programs prepare managers to support employees going through this phase? It’s not just a “women’s issue”—it’s a human experience that affects performance, relationships, and mental health.
The silence around this concerns me. We need education, empathy, and workplace policies that acknowledge and support this transition.
To anyone else going through this: you’re not alone. To organizations—please start the conversation.
