Story Bibles
I’ve been working on my story bible for my new novel. I have the characters, backgrounds, basic world building, and information on the kingdoms of the world. I’m kind of curious if you guys have a story bible. If so, how in detail do you go? Do you use an electronic one or paper? Do you plan your own stuff out or do you follow a template? Let me know! I’m always looking for new and creative ways to approach story building.
I turned all my characters into keywords and tagged appropriate chapters with them. I discovered a few very minor characters and a few locations that I missed. this will help me set each scene in the chapter. If I know WHERE it is happening and WHO is there, I know what descriptions I need, how the characters feel about one another and how the tension will build/be resolved.
This also helped me identify a few chapters where there may be more than one location and where I will need a solid transition between one and the other.
Today is a rough day when it comes to prep TBH. I wanted to outline a few scenes and my brain just ISN'T HAVING IT so I changed focus to something else that I hoped would help = making connections and seeing patterns.
It seems that I’m incapable of writing a standalone...
Seriously, my current WIP is a duology, my last project was a trilogy, and I‘m currently tossing around ideas for both a 4-5 book series and another duology.
Someone stop me lol
It’s been literal ages since I’ve done lineless artwork - but the painting bug seems to have bit me. So, ya know... I decided to sketch Juvia at 4am like one does. Which also explains why I painted her with brown eyes, lol! Went back and forth on whether to even post this since I’m extremely out of practice with painting and it’s technically unfinished, but I figured I need to get better at showing my WIPs and sketches, too. I’ll most likely be attempting more this month since next month is Inktober and there will probably be NO time for color work whatsoever! Also, how has 2019 gone by so quickly?!
(Preptember 9/2/2019. No construction, Clip Studio. Digital paint sketch, unfinished.)
Why do doodles always turn out better then when you actually try? Who knows. Inktober prep! Getting ideas out✍️
Nothing never happening to me, never.
It's almost time for preptober, and I lost my NaNoWriMo details from last year, so I've just joined anew. If anybody is interested, my new username is GoodSentences. I'm trying my hand at Women's Fiction this time around. Good luck to anyone else who plans to participate. 😄
