My thoughts on chapter 700+7.
Hello dearest fandom. I read the recent chapter of Naruto 700 + 7 and had some revelations. I thought the generic testing done is very confusing. Here is the questions I have.
1. Why does Karin have her, what looks to be, umbilical cord with her?
2. Are those cells still viable for this genetic testing?
3. Why is it a 100% match? Genetic testing is never 100% unless it’s from the SAME person.
4. When did Suigetsu become an expert on genetic testing?
I have been taking biology and genetic college level courses for almost four years now and I know a lot about this. I have done paternal genetic testing before and know how to read the gel bands, and graphs when it comes to finding out who is the parents of the child. I have done labs and tests on this for 2 years and I am doing it again this year during the fall.
I am wondering why Karin has this sample of an umbilical cord that is preserved and still usable. Karin is about in her 30’s and Sarada is 12. So, what I am thinking is Karin took the umbilical cord from when little Sarada was a baby and kept that secretly in her desk. Suigestu isn’t even sure that this sample is Karin’s umbilical cord. That is a huge problem when doing a genetic test such as this. She is 30 years old or at least around that age. Most of tissue can be preserved but using tissue that is 30 years old versus a newer sample is just backwards thinking. Also the umbilical cord holds a lot of genetic information and I wondered how long you can keep viable DNA. So, I did a little digging.
Here is what I found: “DNA degrades over time, and just how long it lasts depends on how well it’s preserved. Factors such as exposure to heat, water and sunlight can cause the molecule to degrade faster, according to Slate. The best way to preserve DNA is by freezing it, and sealing it in vacuum-packed container, Slate says.
Last year, researchers estimated that the half-life of DNA — the point at which half the bonds in a DNA molecule backbone would be broken — is 521 years. That means that, under ideal conditions, DNA would last about 6.8 million years, after which all the bonds would be broken. But DNA would not be readable after about 1.5 million years, the researchers said. The oldest DNA recorded was found in Greenland ice, and estimated to be between 450,000 and 800,000 years old.

Did Karin have this piece of her umbilical cord from before she joined Orochimaru? She was a ninja of a village according to the manga. Did she keep it like a locket or something? Don’t you think that this is a weird thing to hold on to? Most people don’t even want to think about the technicality of their birth, let alone hold on their umbilical cord. How did she keep it preserved? That just confused me.
This is after being preserved naturally. I can see how people could think that the DNA is still viable and useable in genetic testing after 30 years of life. Now I wonder why it is a 100% match. From the eyes of someone who hasn’t had the experience I have, I can understand them saying that 100% is a good thing. I have been trained professionally by many professors, and teachers to read these sort of graphs. There is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY THIS CAN BE A 100% MATCH if they are parent and child. Unless that person is an exact replica or the SAME PERSON.
Here is a crash course on human genetics. People are generally more of their mother than they are their father. This is because of the Mitochondria of the cell the same from your mother, and her mother’s mother, the list goes on. Anyway it’s maternal. People are generally 50% of their mother and father. There are also some mutations that can happen but this is the general rule of thumb. The male reproductive organ tells us the child’s sex while the female reproductive organ is does a lot of the nutrience other things for the baby. This is a very general description but you can look up more about that.
Anyway a child is never this similar that it is almost 100%. It should be closer to 50.
Now here is the Manga chapter graphs:
Here is how an actual graph should look like:
Now here is a gel the closest way to figure out who is the parent. Here we match the bands to the parents and see if any match depending on the length of the DNA stand. The longer the stand the closer it is to the well. The shorter they are the farther away from the original well it is. This is how you truly generate the closest match. Did you notice? No one is the exact same on every band. It’s someone parent some the other. I am asking you, why Karin and Sarada’s test would be so similar. Either Karin or Sarada are the same person genetically or that particular sample is Sarada’s and she is being tested against her own DNA.
The rest of this is just my speculations. If you have any questions please message me and I’ll answer as to why I think these ideas are possible.
Now here is my idea. You have to have a stem cell in order to create a ton of different organs. They have to be genetically similar. I wonder if when Sarada was a baby they took the stem cells from the Umbilical cord and created an Uchiha that can sustain the older Shin’s body.
Idea number 2: is Karin helped with the delivery of Sarada and took the umbilical cord. That certainly does seem in her nature. She is obsessed with Sasuke and maybe just as obsessed with Sarada as she is him. They do look very similar and probably have the same chakra. This is just a thought. I like Karin but she likes to hold on to things that are linked to Sasuke. Which explains why Karin wouldn’t want anyone going through her stuff.
Idea 3: All the time Sasuke and Karin shared chakra, she knowingly mutated his DNA. The reason for this idea is that Karin is not allowing other people, other than Sasuke, to bite her. She probably doesn’t want to share DNA with them.
Idea 4: Karin helped Sasuke and Sakura conceive a child and when she did. She ended up adding her own DNA accidentally during the process.
Idea 5: Sarada is the first mutation in the Uchiha linage. That is why she has glasses. (This makes the most sense)
I understand why people think Karin is the mother but I also know that step parents are sometimes better than the actual parent. If this is all wrong i will understand but Sakura is Sarada’s mother for everything other than genetics at this point and I think that is way more important. I have no hate towards Karin I just think her relationship with Sasuke is way too unhealthy.
