The Process Man had no time for nonsense right now. There was an example to be made of several board members of Ace Chemicals earlier that night, and now she had only ten minutes to make it back to one of her haunts before the rain started back up. Rain in this part of Gotham could hardly be called 'fresh', but running water was running water. Powerful as she was, she was still beholden to the laws of undeath.

listening to The Chemical Worker's Song so obviously I'm back with another au idea :) (got the brainrot)

but au where Kai worked in the mines instead of being the Red Shogun (or,, he's both. Red Shogun during the night and miner during day. goodbye sleep who needs you huh) and just,,, i want him to sing the song okay

I want him to sing together with several others while working deep underground with poisonous smoke everywhere and when he reunites with the others in s4 he looks twice as old (two more years then he should idk math shh) as the others bc of the mines and I want Lloyd to find Kai in the mines instead of an illegal fighting club bc neither of those things are good for him and I want Kai using his fire deep into the mines and I want the accidents that happens there and I want Kai slowly killing himself in so many different ways

(and I want all the superstitions and I want Kai picking up several of them, doing it still years later even when he's nowhere near caves or mines. like offers to any spirits and never going alone and and and)

I want Kai learning new things about his powers this way, or maybe he does like Cole at first, telling no one who he actually is until there's no torch and they need the flames (maybe he's still not seen as a ninja here, or no one here cares enough to, they're all here for the money or whatnot) and I want there to be Serpentine working there too and I want Kai to befriend several of them

and and and

(I also want Kai to be one of the most difficult to find while Lloyd's trying to bring them all together because between working in the mines and being an illegal fighter, there's really not much of traces of him anywhere. most ppl in the mines don't even have names anymore, forgotten overground and dying underground with only family still remembering them, because most families are all in the mines, few having the options for anything different)

(I want Lloyd searching for Kai the longest, having to dig into years old archives to find anything at all, and even more to find where the mines are + what mine-tunnel-system he's supposedly in. And I want Kai to tell Lloyd he shouldn't have come for more then one reason, partly because he didn't want to be found and partly because THERE'S POISON IN AIR GET OUT PLEASE) (I want Kai to build up immune system against the poisonous air and I want Kai to have new burns from being in the mines)

I want this to have lasting effects on Kai, maybe even lifelong ones and I want this to be angsty as fuck

I just think it would be cool hxjxhdh i just think it's neat :)

does anyone know of old worker's songs like The chemical workers song/process man? I really enjoy songs like that, and i like to learn about the historical context, but im struggling to find many.
