Animation
This animation is the completed version of my POV driving sequence inspired by Fernando Alonso’s famous overtake on Michael Schumacher in Formula 1. Building on the earlier six-frame tests, I developed the idea into a finished moving sequence that focuses on clarity of motion, rhythm, and viewpoint rather than detailed realism. The animation is intentionally minimal, using simple line work to communicate speed and direction, with Alonso’s car represented in blue lines and Schumacher’s in red, allowing the viewer to clearly read the positions and tension between the two cars. The track and surrounding environment are drawn with black lines, keeping the focus on the action while still grounding the scene in space. Finishing this animation allowed me to think more carefully about timing, flow, and how each frame connects to the next to suggest movement and narrative. This piece links strongly to my wider project by translating my interest in cars and motorsport into animation, showing how even a reduced, graphic style can still capture excitement, rivalry, and a specific moment in racing history.
