Professor Hawthorn, Project Genesis, log I-067
In my research, I have concluded that Pokémon have a sense of morality by nature. This does not mean that Pokémon can distinguish our principals or laws of what is good or bad, but that they possess a certain foundation of moral instincts. They can exhibit traits such as empathy, fairness, and cooperation, even towards humans. Even the most vile acting Pokémon only seems to adhere to its drive for survival, and rarely do Pokémon act malevolent for the sake of malevolence alone.
He did not ask for morality. He doesn't care about the Pokémon being able to portray empathy, or handle fairly. With my enhancements, it could be the first Pokémon to be guided by complex moral reasoning, akin to that of humans. It could be the exemplary bridge between human and Pokémon cooperation and co-habilitation, our communicative link to learn more about these creatures!
But all he wants is a tool for his personal gain. A weapon without limits. I fear this Pokémon will become destructive as it lacks a compass of self and sensibility. Not just to its surroundings, but also to itself.
END OF LOG
Stumbled across your blog and I am intrigued 👀 Please tell me more about your WIP! (I'm a sucker for dark fantasy so a fantasy story with horror elements sounds super cool!)
Thank you so much for asking! 🥹 I really don't have a solid summary for it right now so let me just rave about some of my favorite things about it for a second! 🤗
Aleksander is a prince that feels insufficient(? there's another word I can't think of right now) compared to his two older brothers and sister who are all crazy powerful mages so he decides to carve out his own destiny with the help of a seer who wants to change the future. He gets tricked into raising an imprisoned god and agreeing to become a sort of host for him and a weapon to get revenge on the nation that imprisoned him, and in return the god will let him use his own power to become one of the most powerful mages in the world. (This revenge plan is severely hindered by the fact that Aleksander doesn't really want to kill anyone and is squeamish about blood)
The other half of the dual pov is Lucerys who was supposed to be raised as The Chosen One™️ but didn't want to sacrifice himself for the world so he ran away and did some dark fucked up magic that included a little human sacrifice (just a smidge, it was only one kid 🙄) and a dash of cannibalism (it was only the kids heart 🥱) in order to create a new identity for himself and escape his destiny.
Aleksander and Lucerys were actually childhood friends and were raised together with the intention of Luc being trained as Alek's sworn protector, but Luc is abducted and raised as The Chosen One™️ in secret instead. Years later Lucerys is still trying to fulfill his promise of protecting Aleksander from afar (it's basically stalking, it's practically a parasocial relationship at this point)
After changing his identity Lucerys is adopted and raised by a man who is part of a secret syndicate called The Order (I'm so original) that has been working to destroy monarchy for years (not really because they disagree with a monarchy, more so just to establish themselves as the governing party) Lucerys has been slowly collecting information on them and tracking members for years with the intention of destroying them from within to keep them from hurting Aleksander's family. (He could not care less about his family, this is literally all for one hot dude he knew when he was seven)
The seer that accompanies Aleksander is named Kieran and he was actually raised with Lucerys (after the abduction, before the name change that cost a literal human heart) and he sold his soul to what is essentially the devil? in order to obtain the ability to see all possible futures and be able to change the future so that he could help Lucerys avoid his destiny. He hopes to accomplish this by instead offering Aleksander up as The Chosen One™️. (he does not consult Lucerys about any of the shit he is supposedly doing to help him, this is evidenced by the fact that Lucerys would not have signed off on any of it)
There's actually a lot of other characters and stuff going on but I don't have time to get into all of that! I also don't have a Official WIP Intro right now and probably won't for a bit so this will just have to suffice as one for the time being.
Rough concepts of the skelebros. (Head canon stuff ahead for in the works fanfiction)
sans: Magic eye can shift between eye sockets (think Duskell). sans’ smile is well practiced, even in a frown he has taken delicate care to hide those fangs. Being what is referred to as a ‘primal trait’ within skeleton monsters, its viewed in a less than stellar light.
Always stretched far to thin, constant erratic resets leaving him perpetually lost on the concept of days past between them. Emotional if not careful, sans spends a lot of his days napping in narcoleptic episodes. Changes in the underground are kept in a carefully scripted log book found in his inner jacker pocket... when he can remember to leave it there. (Player Character is a Modder/Speed Runner)
Hobbies: Sowing (Responsible for all of Papyrus’ costumes growing up), Reading. Catching those hard earned Zzs
Papyrus: Always the more jovial side of the skeleton brothers, Pap’s attitude towards his job is always filled with excitement. Highly energetic and easily enthused, Papyrus is easily the only monster in the underground on most days to inspire his troubled elder brother.
Papyrus will sometimes experience deja vu in relation to the resets. This is probably the results of his and sans’ especially close bond.
Hobbies: Cooking, Construction (Enjoys the upkeep projects around Snowdin. Often goes off to help in other areas of the Underground), Training
I’m not sure if I like the way I drew his face. Its simple and easy to do for quick sketches but it doesn’t quite feel like him. So we’ll see after working on it some more. Also thinking of changing his outfit.
More to come soon! :D
. Content Warning : Body Horror / Mental Illness Jay , No titles, No Specialties. Just a Casualty of Asuran Society. Jay is the Only suriving subject of the Alpha Stages of Genesis ( before Doctor Zanni became it’s head ) At the time, a 97% Mortality rate meant only prisoners of war or the truly desperate would volunteer to be tested on. Jay, Having Flunked out of Statics and Joined the inquest to survive, Volunteered after no small amount of self-deliberation. Stage 3 Genesis Projects, Known to other subdivisions as “ Splices “ , “ Freaks “ or “ Hybrids “ , Are Relatively Short Lived due to the Mental Damages that the process inflicts on it’s subjects. once the emotional damage stacks up too high, projects are listed for , and Subsequently , Terminated. Jay is a Snowy-owl Hybrid, Bearing Modified bone structure, Hollow-but-dense Bones , Hypersensitive hearing and eyesight, Expanded Lung Capacity, and a pair of functioning , Fully-feathered Wings.
Before he was listed for termination , his fingertips were removed and replaced with An experimental Alloy to give him more traction for climbing if his wings were injured. He was fitted with a similarly Experimental Noise-dampening set of Earmuffs to prevent his hearing from being damaged by casual conversations with his handlers. The only saving grace for his ears was the fact that Genesis Subjects have an alarmingly Fast Healing rate... He could fully recover his busted eardrums in Days. But then the Mental effects Kicked in. Dysmorphia Centered around his new Wings, The Flood of New information as he could See , clearly, up to 3 Kilometers , and The Instincts that the birds genetics’ came hard coded with. What got him put on the Chopping block was a fear of Thunderstorms , the cacaphonous Sound and Disruption to his newly-realized internal navigation causing him extreme distress. But Doctor Zanni had a soft spot for the Poor bird, and rather than preforming the execution, Shoved him off of the execution Platform and fired into the air. Jay Fled, flying as far north as his wings could Carry him, So far that once he finally stopped, the Resulting crash landing cost him his flight for a Month. Stranded In Bjora’s Marches, The Kodan became his closest Allies. He learned the ways and Truth of Koda , and Eventually learned to Love himself and his Wings for what they are. The Dragon, however, never stopped whispering to him about his savior being killed, something he dreaded and feared. When the Pact Returned to Bjora’s Marches In 1332-33 , Jay watched from The mountaintops as the first wave of Vigil soldiers slaughtered each other, and the second wave barely survived the same. Eventually These wayward Soldiers stumbled into Jay’s Territory, prompting closer and closer investigations until He had to intervene on behalf of a Kodan. The Priory members in the area were shocked, but not spiteful, to see something Like Jay alive and well. Eventually He opened up about why he had wings, the project that created him, and confessed to not knowing what came of it or it’s Matron. In Exchange for this, the Priory offered him a safer place to stay : With them in Lornar’s Pass. Eager To return to the world and see how it had evolved in his ‘abscence’ He joined. But The priory Still Looks at him with concern, and the shadows of his self-doubt have prompted him to hide his wings more frequently, Fearing that He was only Observed for his oddities, rather than as an asura.
