current projects?!?!?!?!? :3
Hi Sam!! :3
Not much right now as I have to contend with my upcoming work schedule but I have a few things I do want to complete some time within the coming months!
1. Finish my Glamrock redesigns — I only need to draw Freddy and Monty of the main four to finish my lineup! I’m just having issues with proportions, posing, and Monty’s snout shape. Gators are hard. Chica and Roxy are done tho. I’ll probably add Bonnie onto there at a later point.
2. “Just a Man” OC animatic — I want to do a 1:06 long animatic of my OCs (non-fandom related) to the song ‘Just a Man’! I have key frame ideas written down! I just need to draw out thumbnails.
3. “Oh Sienna” trend — I’ve seen this a few times on insta and tiktok but I want to do the whole “your favorite characters are a reflection of yourself” trend! I drew out some characters on paper yesterday (here’s Harpy Eda below as a treat) but this just depends on how I’m feeling!
4. Mask creation — I have two physical masks in the work atm, the first my friend’s oc (gift) and the second will be a more humanoid Moon. I don’t feel comfy showing the physical masks online atm but I can show the concepts for both.
5. Redesigns/Redraws of ‘Legacy Characters’ — I have a few ocs that I’ve had for a very long time and I’ve been redesigning most of them. Just updating their looks and story to depict both my current interests and simply my values. Like heavily balancing out the power dynamics in many of my characters, but especially my main guy Vincent. Him being an emperor with so much dominion over others made me uncomfortable when paired with him being a god and the whole “he’s supposed to be sympathetic” concept. All those things just… didn’t work. He had too much control over the narrative yet was expected to be empathized with. Heres like.. three doodles I made in relation to oc stuff. The second is a WIP and the third is an outfit update for the second.
6. Drawing myself in other styles — This is a small project I’m vaguely doing with my bestie. I say vaguely because it’s something we want to work on, it’s just not high on our priority list. Sneak peak below. :P
7. “Yes, To Err Is Human, So Don’t Be One” OC animatic — An animatic I’ve been wanting to for a few months! Would contain my OC (non-fandom related) and one of my very close friend’s OCs! The main reason I haven’t gotten far in it is because I’m having difficulties picturing visuals for parts of the song. My brain keeps defaulting to the whole ‘character is singing song in set space’ idea which is not what I want to go with. I want to do something more theatrical with symbolism and shiii. lol. Fucked up how, when I was younger, I had no issues thinking up cool animation ideas.
8. “Hand Me My Shovel” Moon animatic — This one is, admittedly, very much an “I imagine this in the car when I listen to this song but the likelihood of me making this is low due to how long it would take” type entry but shhh. Two Will Wood songs in the same post! (Crazy!) I only put this down because I actually have a very clear vision for this song, something I can’t say as confidently for the other two animatic ideas on this list.
I don’t think I have any more super specific projects I want to work on other than general cosplay repair and maybe print an oc keychain. I don’t expect to finish most of these by the new year ngl. The only ones im putting 100% into right now are the masks since I have deadlines for both. (Dec 5th & Dec 25th respectively)
This was (admittedly) a pretty hefty project list. I suppose I just marked it as small in my brain because I simply haven’t been drawing as much as I used to. All my ideas just adding up over time. :P I’d also add just relearning some of the fundamentals and maybe taking an online art class or two as I’ve been having issues with posing/proportions. I feel like the way I’m generally starting sketches isn’t conducive to a balanced form, so I want to brush up on that a bit.
