thought about adrian & why he doesn't kill prostitutes: his mother was one after his father left in order to raise her kids and make sure she could keep a roof under their head. adrian from a young age watched his mother struggled and it was one of the times he remembers feeling sympathy for such a person because her husband left and she struggled to make a living for a while. a young adrian watching his mother come home with bruises from the john she worked under and eventually deciding enough is enough. his mother's john is his first kill (just poisoning and it goes undetected or unsolved because so many people wanted the man dead) and it's why he kills johns because he knows they're the problem and that the majority of women are just trying to make a living.

Both the Marines and the Government turn their nose up at prostitution, but it was one of the one ways for many women to escape their lives if she was neither Pirate or Marine. Chartreuse Abigail was one of these women. The Brothel from which she had risen to become the Madame of was known for high class clientele in the Pirate world, and she had a strict policy to protect her girls. Every client was vetted, they had to have money, and they had to have an interview with her before they even had a chance to meet her working girls.
Her high end business kept itself nestled in Loguetown. A destination spot for workers wanting to cash out their money at the right place, as well as a space for those who knew the right palms to grease in order to have a good time. She also had met the budding up- and-coming pirate Crocodile during this time. If asked how to describe how he had been, she would have said 'wild'.
He had bounded into her high end brothel with a vigor that came with a man who was either trying to forget something or had an entirely new lease on life. Abigail found him handsome, even with those dangerous eyes and sharp teeth. Over the years and as he gained prominence as a Warlord, he would grace her doorframe with the entry free plus extra, and he would stay for several days on end.
Then Alabasta happened and she didn't hear from him for years, until one day he showed up with a man he called 'Daz' by his side, looking like he had literally climbed out of hell. Maybe he had. She didn't ask. All she did was offer him a drink, a hot bath, and a room. He didn't have any money, but she lent it out on credit and he inevitably paid her back for her hospitality tenfold.
So I've been thinking about Fred and Bonde quite a while now. What are your opinions of them? And if they become a pairing how do you think Moran would react?
So I hadn't really thought about either of them that much until we were talking about them last night, but I love what we were discussing. So, to expand on it explicitly:
(Former) sex workers who excell in disguse unite!
So Fred is super mysterious, so lemme start with some Fred HCs:
Fred was scouted, not found. That's why he is so much less certain than the others about William during the Baskervilles arc. He already had built himself up as being important in London's criminal underbelly, and had skills that the Lord of Crime needed. While there might have been other candidates with a similar skillset and with similar connections, he was chosen for his kindness. But I'm not certain Fred knows that, and probably was brought in at first through trading favors. He agrees with William's plan overall, but doesn't have ownership over his role in it until after the Baskervilles arc.
So, obviously Fred is well-versed in disguise and well connected (for instance to the morgue), but why? What organized crime can someone so young be involved in?
Well... what about participating in another extremely publicized, hysteria-inducing criminal enterprise of the era: The Cleveland Street Scandal? In which Telegraph Boys (one of the few jobs a teenage boy in the East End would have been eligible for) took advantage of the fact no one looked twice at a telegraph boy entering the home of an aristocrat, and began a side hustle of prostitution to make up for the abysmal wages. It's been a while since I was researching this topic, but I remember this being a youth-led venture, with the older boys being the uh. Entrepreneurs. I guess.
Anyway, this would have been before any significant police knowledge or crackdown based on the dates. So by the time Fred leaves to join William, he's probably made a decent name for himself.
Obviously he's the kind to protect the strays, I don't think this is ill-intentioned and he does the best he can for the people under his care.
I think between this and the similarities between costuming for the stage and Fred's disguises would give Bonde and Fred a lot in common.
I headcanon it being an open relationship. I don't see Bonde being in anything else tbh. Leave him free to pursue Moneypenny and Miss Hudson and Moran also. Plus I don't think Fred would particularly mind. It's more about feeling comfortable around each other, not about exclusivity.
I don't know what the ship dynamics would be like per se. But I think it would be interesting for sure!
On Moran's reaction...I bet he doesn't actually know about Fred's past. He wasn't involved in the scouting process himself. So he probably thinks Fred is more innocent than he is. So he may try to protect Fred from things he doesn't need protection from? But I also don't think he'd get in the way at all. As long as both parties are happy, that's his main concern. He just probably gives a shoveltalk to Bonde that makes it clear to Bonde that Fred has not told him anything about his past business before, and also tries to give Fred some sort of birds-and-bees talk that Fred absolutely does not need.
ya'll already know i love bajie a normal amount and am absolutely going to have a verse for him once i get my muse page up and running but while we're at it-- been thinking about a nezha reborn verse --
since bajie is already considered a god of prostitutes in some places , as well as the pig symbolizing prosperity in chinese culture , i was thinking that in this verse , pigsy would be a being a pretty notorious pimp . he probably wears a mask too , like wukong , because ain't good for business-- unless you're into that of course ;) .
the twist is that it's just a front , and he does some even MORE sketchy stuff on the side that is in fact , focused on helping the struggling population in providing them access to basic human needs . bajie was always the most sympathetic to humans , even if the journey was all for not .

𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐍 𝐇𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐂𝐀𝐏𝐈𝐓𝐎𝐋 nearly as much as they all seem to adore her. They compare her to a goddess of the sea — maybe because of her eyes, the color of sea-glass, or maybe because she’s from District Four. Every time she’s brought back to this place, she’s reminded of her reunion with Finnick after her victory — how he’d looked both relieved, and terribly sad. He’d tilted her chin up, and gave her his best Finnick Odair smile as he’d said, ‘you’re so pretty’. Finnick was, of course, never interested in her himself. The statement had been foreshadowing for what would happen to her now that the games were over. Now that she was a victor. As it had turned out, the games never really end — they just change what they want from you.
It’s because she knows what it means to be a victor that she’s never particularly enthused with the idea of her tributes meeting the same fate. Finn had joked once that they could form a little club, compare notes — tell secrets. Marin had just wondered if there are really so many of them. She looks for it everywhere, every time she bumps into someone who’s supposedly escaped. If they’re attractive, she’ll assume that they’re part of the so-called club. If they’re not — she wonders what else the Capitol does to them keep them up at night.
She’s been away from the Capitol for too long, and everything’s changed. She’s changed. A light sunburn graces her nose and cheeks, her hair’s shorter this year. She’d done her best to forget about the games until she was handed an eighteen year old male volunteer, and a scared looking fifteen year old girl who still had sand on her feet. And just like that, it starts over again. “It always makes me a little bit sad to see them bond,” she says offhandedly to one of the District Three mentors as they watch their tributes in the training room. “It’s almost never a good sign.”
Kamenashi Ryonosuke ~ Rio ~ he/they ~ 21
Rio has always been trouble for his family, despite earning top marks in school and landing scholarships to study biochemistry at universities in both Tokyo and California. It was his manner of dress, his mannerisms, his interests that stuck in the craw of his extremely conservative, traditional parents who expected him to complete schooling, land a career, and come back home to support them in the twilight of their lives. Rio just wanted to be himself, to dress in the way that made him feel free and comfortable in his skin, and most importantly, he wanted someone to love him for everything he was and not for something he could never be.
Unfortunately, the stress got to be too much for him once he was settled in his tiny apartment outside Berkeley, CA, and after missing too many classes due to simply being too anxious and depressed to get out of bed he lost his scholarship. He has since done whatever it took to make sure the rent was paid, the lights stayed on and he had something to eat... but that’s put him on the radar of some of the less savory elements of suburban California.
(I got bored tonight and decided to give another of my longtime roleplay characters a face in TS4. He was made for a monster boy RP and in that verse he is a shifter/were whose alter form is an akita.)

it’s call boy!sam au hours // cw attempted noncon, protective!dean
sam that takes calls from clients and then meets them in the same motel he’s sharing with dean, making sure he gets a room all the way at the other end
he doesn’t kiss -- that’s too personal, too involved -- and he’s never fucked any of them, never let any of them fuck him. he’ll give handjobs, blow jobs, eat women out and make them scream with his pretty mouth, but no one gets fully penetrated. sam won’t do that. he doesn’t even really like sex, not really, but they’re low on money, on the run, and sam needs to get money somehow
except dean can never know
until dean catches him sneaking into a motel room with some nobody john and shutting the door softly behind him. dean watching, waiting, but he doesn’t wait long because he knows what sam is doing. he’s heard sam on the phone, talking in his calm, soothing voice, setting up meetings. at least now he knows what those “meetings” are
it makes sense why sam can suddenly get dean an extra slice of pie or a replacement flannel when his gets torn to shreds during a hunt, and dean has never hated anything more
he breaks into the room without thinking. what he sees sets his teeth on edge, red framing his vision. sam is on the bed on his knees. his arms pinned uncomfortably under him, shoulders pressed heavily into the mattress as sam’s head is held face down by a meaty palm. sam is struggling, voice muffled, as he tries to get the guy to stop and dean springs to action.
he’s across the room and knocking the guy out with the butt of his gun. he pays no mind to the sick sound of bone breaking, just shoulders him off of his little brother and helping sam sit up.
“sammy, what were you thinking?”
sam’s shaken up, trembling, and dean sets his hand on his shoulder absorbing the shocks. he curls his fingers in sam’s shirt and pulls his baby brother against his chest, subconsciously kissing the top of his head. “it’s okay, kiddo, i got you.” he pets sam’s hair to calm him, slowly pulling back but not letting go. “you wanna tell me what’s goin’ on?”
“i was just... trying to make sure we weren’t hard up for money. we can’t always keep up the credit card scams, dean. there’s only so many social security numbers and names we can fake.”
dean’s eyes soften and he smooths sam’s hair from where it frames his face. “that why you been gettin’ me extra pie and flannels lately, sammy?” he frowns at his baby brother. “i don’t want you doing this to yourself and gettin’ hurt, little brother.” he presses their foreheads together. “today was too close. i can’t have anything happen to you; i don’t know what i would’a done if--”
“okay, dean,” sam whispers, closing his eyes and absorbing the warmth from dean’s forehead to his own. “i’ll stop.” dean presses his lips against sam’s without thinking. sam sinks into it.
