Society has given us such a f***ed up sense of what makes a creation good.
It doesn’t matter how many likes or reblogs it gets, how many comments it has.
Just because a story has 5,000 hits and only a few kudos on AO3 doesn’t mean your work isn’t good.
Just because no one says a single thing about your creation but it feels like the whole world is hanging on to someone else’s grocery list doesn’t mean your work isn’t good.
Just because you don’t have comments for days doesn’t mean your work isn’t good.
Just because you don’t have many followers and no one sends asks about your works the way they do to others doesn’t mean your work isn’t good.
Your work is brilliant. Your work is golden. Your work is incredible.
I am proud of the weeks and months and bravery it took to create and then share your work with the world.
You were proud of it when you created it, proud of it when you shared it.
Don’t ever stop being proud of your work.
It’s human to be disappointed, to get discouraged, to fall down the rabbit hole of thinking it must be something about you, or your work, that people don’t like.
That doesn’t make it true.
Be proud of your creation. Because it’s amazing. Trust me. I know this for a fact.
Don’t ever stop creating.
If you see this post, here’s the green light you don’t even need to share the piece of work you’re most proud of! You have every right to be proud! Show it off! What’s your favorite few lines that you’ve ever written? Why? Tag anyone and everyone to share! If you’re not a writer, what stood out to you?
