[hypothetical situation about a freudian slip of spaghetti due to parents fighting on "spaghetti night" as a child] "but enough about my personal life"

i think he was like that because he used to work at the freud museum but it was very fun

my therapist roasted me today so profoundly that I decided to hold myself accountable (I can imagine being roasted harder tho). And I didn't shutdown completely which has happened after previous roasting sessions lol.

if you spent more than a year (estimates taken out of thin air) doing therapy work you probably know this feeling when session by session you summarize what happened, you notice some good things going on. You are quite honest and you say a lot (i'm a talker, apologies) but halfway through you already know you haven't got and won't get today to the real issue. As if there was something aching inside but you and your therapist are both trapped in "it's not so bad tho" beating around the bush.

Yes, then I love each time you get out of this state. And I am angry – to be honest I still feel I was treated quite unfair at some points – but it nudged me toward feeling like there is a transformative potential in therapy – not solely a technique or a plan for doing X or Z but a transformation akin to the one experienced when you were growing up and your parents were still super wise. Or when you met This human who would become your best friend or the most triggering guy. Or both, no sé. but you get the gist.

at work, passing people by on streets, in school or anywhere, even in home you don't purposefully go through psychodramas – I've heard that some ritualistic practices are like that oooh and also theatre workshops. still usually people have their regular actions that they try to run smoothly.

therapy goes week by week just as your daily life (assuming my therapists have been more or less of average sort) in which you perform usual duties. But when this exchange of sounds, words, ideas? works and I go home and new idea is nagging me to change; working underneath to and pushing me to change how I do stuff lol. then I think that the whole concept of artificially creating the space for arousing changes in psyche is quite powerful.
