Psych Week (host: @/lightgriffinsect) / Day 2 / Friends
"Trust me, it will be great. Especially for you Void."
Hood was strangely acting stubborn today. He strongly insisted on going to the specific karaoke together. Void wasn't very persuaded.
"Dude, look. If you HAVE to sing we can just move to my recording studio, 'kay? No one would bother us there and it has better sound equipment."
"But I have a reason."
"What reason?"
"It's a surprise."
"???"
The conversation continued without a conclusion. Psychic decided to step in. Heard enough of their childish argument whatever the reason Hood is trying to hide from them.
"Let's see what you have in your mind, Hood."
Guess I'm the only cool man here. Psychic straightened up, slipped his hands in his pockets, and walked forward like nothing happened, leaving the two staring at him from behind in bewilderment.
"...What did he just say?"
"He can't be serious."
Psychic decided to ignore what they are muttering behind his back. Nothing important, obviously.
A few moments later, they arrived at the karaoke where Hood introduced. The energetic accompaniment rang loudly from the inside. Surprisingly, every single people inside karaoke recognized Void. They asked for fan service such as handshake, autograph, or taking a picture together.
Before Void's tiny amount of patience wore off, Hood asked the fans for their understanding and brought Void with him into the VVIP room where staffs prepared for them. Psychic was already sitting on the sofa, waiting for the guys.
"Heh, people here definitely have a good eye."
Void leaned back to the sofa, his expression showing that he is pleased with the amount of people knowing who he is.
"So... this is what you wanted to show me?"
"There's more."
Hood controlled the remote to display a Karaoke Popular Song Chart on the screen. Every songs in Void's new album topped the chart.
"Huh? Well, I mean... y'know, I'm A.C. Void. It's nothing to me."
Realizing that this is what Hood wanted to show him the whole time, Void felt strange satisfaction welling up from his mind. Void tried to act nonchalant, but the corners of his mouth kept going up, forming an undeniable smile as if it's a real mouth. Hood was simply happy as his little surprise worked, while Psychic thought it weird.
Void began to sing his entire album, clearly excited from the entire event. He even showed off some of his iconic poses toward the CCTV. They could hear staffs screaming from outside again and again. Hood played the tambourine to the beat of the song, adding heat to the atmosphere. He also waved his hand to CCTV with his eyes smiling.
While all this was happening, Psychic was just sitting there. He couldn't understand. What am I doing here.
He habitually held a book in his hand, which was just a list of music to choose, definitely far from the kind of books he enjoys reading. Void's new songs were too loud for his aesthetics. He didn't like the sound of people screaming either. The lights here were too flashy and cluttered. The sofa is the only fine thing in this place, but it's still not as good as sofas in the mansion.
This was not a place for the likes of him. With these guys who are less smarter than him, Psychic had to experience things he would never do if he were alone.
Yet.
Not bad, he thought to himself. Psychic couldn't understand himself actually enjoying this moment. Nothing of this place impressed him, except...
Psychic looked up at his two friends for a short moment.
When he lowered his gaze back down toward the book, there was a mild warmth blooming in his eyes.
