it's actually so funny /sar that its actually the easiest thing in the world to make a trans persons entire week, like easiest, most 100% certain it will work every damn time, will literally make them happier than any human in the entire world
by just ... gendering them correctly and using the right pronouns
and yet
it don't be happening
you could make a trans persons entire fucking year for the low low price of just gendering them correctly once
question for everyone that is aro/ace/aroace or anything else on the ace/aro-spec
is there any site where I can download for free books based on our labels? it can be any type of book fiction or non-fiction

continuing on my rant about queer americans:
something a lot of queer americans fail to understand or acknowledge is that their queer history is not the same as every other country's queer history, and if anybody tries to point this out, they're met with incredible backlash because they (americans) read too much in to the statement and start inventing implications that aren't actually there.
whenever a queer tells another to "learn some queer history before you start discoursing" a lot of the time they mean american queer history. whenever somebody links historical articles and writings they're american historical articles and writings. whenever somebody sets up queer resources they're american queer resources -- (and none of these things are inherently bad! they just don't realise they kinda do need to specify that they're american because they view themselves as the default, or get very, very angry when you point out that a lot of this doesn't apply to you or your country.)
queer history and queer liberation did not start and end in 1960's america, not even in america, and whilst non-americans can appreciate and applaud and celebrate queer american historical heroes, we're doing this as outsiders, not as people that owe our lives to them. each and every country around the world have their own queer historical heroes, each and every country around the world has their own queer history and queer liberation movements, we have people that we do owe our lives to, they're just not the same as yours, and vice versa.
you can claim to be anti-patriotism (and maybe even anti-american), but that means nothing if you don't put the work in to dismantle that in your own brain (because whether you like it or not you were raised in america, surrounded by american patriotism and propaganda -- you're not immune to it), because a lot of the time all non-americans hear is "American Patriotism: Part 2: Queer Edition", and you don't even realise it.
