'The Male Sex Role: Our Culture's Blueprint of Manhood and What It's Done For Us Lately,' written in 1976 by the psychologist Robert Brannon, listed four unbreakable rules of manhood: 'No Sissy Stuff,' 'Be a Big Wheel,' 'Be a Sturdy Oak,' and 'Give 'em Hell.' It became a virtual bible for men's consciousness-raising groups and for courses on gender and sex roles. In the hands of male liberationists, those basic tenets encapsulated everything society deprived white men of: no softness, no openness, no vulnerability, no crying, and no dependency. In consciousness-raising groups, men voiced dismay at the strictures those attitudes imposed on their selfhoods and how they made it difficult to have close relationships with women and children, as well as with other men. [...] Men's liberation groups frequently practiced an alternative masculinity during their meetings. Participants described touching and hugging other members in their groups, crying with each other, and opening up about their feelings. Activists hoped to translate this different kind of maleness into more caring and open relationships with women and children as well as with each other. [...] For male liberationists, transforming the male sex role was a precondition to parity between the sexes, and they always understood comprehensive changes in men's identities as indispensable to a fully equal society.

Howdy fellow LGBTs this post is to appreciate when you have to wake up before your partner and they’re all curled up like a big snuggly blanket worm and you kiss them on the head before you go.

They had Princess Cake at the grocery store bakery, made in-house. I’ve never seen this there before!!! “We made it fresh this morning.” o________o

I am going to eat this, and yes, sip wine from a mug as I rewatch the latest episode of The Magicians and let it gently destroy me. <3

Also was naughty and ordered this Memento Mori candle from Alchemy + Ink. I purposely avoided the restock sale this morning...but they still had the one that I wanted. And I didn’t feel like exercising self-control. Contrary to popular (haha not really) belief, I actually do on occasion.
