WHAT IF... PETER MAXIMOFF WAS SPIDERMAN? — AU

“quicksilver? what you're talking about? nah, i'm spidersilver!”

spider!silver who is always late for most compromises because he gets distracted fighting crime, beating thefts, stopping bullies and even helping elders carrying their groceries to them; helping the neighborhood. sometimes he happens to actually focus and appear early, mainly when it's mentioned you're going to be there too.

spider!silver who's always getting his older sister wanda crazy with the amount of trouble he gets but swear it's nothing. as the two older siblings for their younger sister lorna, they might be the example and a good example of "normal", not using their powers unnecessarily, trying their best to evict being exposed. — fun fact: wanda always have been the more weird before him, she was the one having witch-kinda powers since kid and never told him or another person besides their mom (that told her to hide it). it was a exquisite moment peter discovering it her powers, for wanda, simply annoying.

spider!silver always had a rough relationship with his mom magda, that started being more neglecting with him and his sisters along the years, mostly aiming all the fault of her problems on peter because he looked just like his and wanda's father — that they never got to met, he left their mom before being even born —. whatever got between their parents left their mom living on hatred and rejecting peter more and more as he grew up. tired of this living hell, he convinced wanda to gather their things and start living with just the three — him, wanda and lorna — in an apartment, he would help wanda to pay the rent and all of them would have their happy peaceful place.

spider!silver who hate his old original name (pietro) but love to hear it when it comes out of your mouth, speaketh so dearly. he trusts you so much that besides his mom, sisters and kurt, you're the only person that know 'peter' wasn't his birth name.

spider!silver who's used to having people mocking him for being too different, he simply ignores them but can't lie that undertone he's still affected by it. weird choice of color hair, socially awkward, speaking more fast than his thoughts gets to connect and mouth to shut, and being the stereotypical nerd genius, who enjoys popular media, videogames and totally understands math and other exact sciences, classic “boo, lame.”

spider!silver who has the most badass older sister, wanda and peter are insufferable together — in the good and bad way —, despite the arguments and conflicts they may encounter they won't ever give up about each other. wanda did all for them three, started to not only frequent her college classes but work at a diner at the same time to give a better home and help to her two younger siblings the better she could. always screaming at them two but she won't ever say that don't love them with all her soul.

spider!silver is the best twin brother wanda could have and the best older brother lorna could have, he is both their almighty hero, and doesn't even need a mask for that. peter would sacrifice his own life for them, and they would do the same for him too. peter knowing his younger sibling adoration for investigative documentaries and love for detective movies, he never told her that spidersilver identity is himself, wanda agreed with him that one day she'll discover that by her own — or peter might fuck up and let her know by him getting distracted —, it would be the best gift he could let for her. lorna sees him, not only the masked hero, but her brother as her inspiration.

spider!silver who was sketching drawings of you while listening to music at the roof of a building and almost tripped by the edge when heard your laugh from far away passing by. when going to catch his pen back that fell onto the floor, unnoticeably he got bit by a (radioactive) weird spider that was nearby, the building most nearest was an old pet shop with weird exotic animals. during the next few weeks peter felt sick and started to develop unusual symptoms, till it was revealed he had spiderman-like powers now, and others interesting such as magnetism and precognitive dreaming — while sleeping he has the chance to dream about a future event in real life that may actually happen.

spider!silver is more than a common genius, and people won't ever get it. after the powers everything just got enhanced, peter's reflexes increased not only physically but mentally. he solves equations and reads situations faster than any normal person, great in handy when it comes to saving people and finding the best solution. although this affects him more than hero-wise, it affects how socially he communicates too, speaking more fast than his thoughts gets to sit and sometimes letting out what he didn't mean to say out loud blur it out.

Summary: On summer vacation with Hannibal, Will acts on the spur of the moment and makes a life-changing decision. Not everyone is going to approve but that’s only the start of Will’s problems - how much does he really know about Hannibal and will he live to regret loving him?

Set in an AU where Will is a young genderfluid student who began dating Hannibal after they met as part of his studies. Can easily be read as a standalone (I wrote it that way on purpose - see intro notes for more info!).

Fic is complete - the first three chapters will go up over the weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun) and afterwards will update weekly each Friday.

“I don’t want any fuss,” Will said later that night.

They were talking in bed, with the remains of a hastily-gathered meal scattered around them. It was a rare thing for Hannibal to be surprised but still he could hardly believe what Will had done. There hadn’t even been a real proposal - Will had simply held out his hand for the ring and Hannibal had rushed to comply. His power was astonishing - now an emblem of Hannibal’s devotion encircled his finger, impatient for another to join it.

Hannibal allowed himself to look slightly crestfallen at Will’s wish for simplicity. It was not unexpected, and a large wedding not necessary, but what about flowers, music, food?

“This vacation has been just perfect,” Will said. “Just you and me. And this feels private still. I’d like to keep it that way - I don’t want to share it with anyone else yet.”

Hannibal considered that more fully and found that, right then, he agreed. But time would tell - once he’d pulled himself together he might feel differently. And so might Will. He had to tread carefully.

“We don’t have to tell anyone anything for now,” he said. “We can decide what to do later, once we’re back home.”

Will jerked his head up. “Wait, what?” he said. “When we get home? I thought we were gonna, you know - do it sooner than that.”

Hannibal’s shock was swift and entirely genuine. “Sooner?” he said. “You mean here? Now?”

“Yeah,” Will said. “Like I said, I don’t want to share it with anyone yet. If we go home, we can’t keep it from people. I mean, I can’t not tell Bev. And then the longer we wait, the more of a huge thing it’ll become. I’d rather do it now.”

"I love you so much." Pietro flashed you a sleepy smile before burrowing his head in the pillow next to you. "That was random, where did that come from?"

It was the little things like these with him that meant so much. He was always in a hurry and usually you could keep up with him mentally. However it was always nice to take it slow once in awhile.

He sat up leaning his head on his hand, his fingers intertwining themselves with his white blonde locks, "No reason in particular, I just figured I'd remind you, dragoste." His sleepy blue eyes fluttered for a moment as you took in the man that you loved so much.

You smiled before he opened his arms for you to snuggle closer to him, "I love you too, Piet."

"Good, for a second there I thought I might get 'friend-zoned' by my own wife." he mumbled into your ear. He wrapped his arm around your side making you feel warm inside.

Being with him never seemed to get old especially when you took it slow...

Could I turn the ‘ask me about a fic snippet’ on its head? Because I would love to know what YOUR favourite snippet is from Quicksilver. I adore that fic series more than words can express, and going right back to the first one I would be fascinated to know how it came about, how it evolved and what your favourite part is. <3

:DDD thank you and what a great ask! I had to think about this realllllly hard. My favourite parts usually feature Will and Bev hanging out (they’re just so fun together and a pleasure to write) or the parts which are, for me, pure Quicksilver - namely, Hannibal being dangerously thirsty, pulled entirely out of his comfort zone, while Will remains just a tiny bit out of reach. Or, shall we say, not quite as much in reach as Hannibal would like.

My favourite so far is the ficlet where Hannibal meets Kyle, Will’s ex-fuck buddy. I think my writing has improved so much since I started began it so it’s hard for me to like the earlier stuff that much but, having said that, I still really like their first meeting in Hannibal’s office too :)

I’d pick this little section because it sums up everything about their relationship in the series so far, and I finally managed to articulate why I called the first fic Quicksilver:

The Bentley - there was only one, of course - was parked at the edge of the lot. Hannibal was behind the wheel, conspicuously not on the phone and listening to opera instead. Possibly Wagner. Will couldn’t be certain but it was bombastic enough.

“Dealt with your patient emergency, then?” Will opened the door and put his bag and book on the back seat. “Must be nice being a doctor - you’ve always got a ready-made excuse to leave.”

“I simply wanted to avoid any awkwardness and let you say your goodbyes.”

Will climbed in beside Hannibal and fastened his seatbelt. “Hannibal,” he said. “Are you jealous?”

“Not jealous, no,” Hannibal replied. “But I do find myself feeling extraordinarily possessive. It’s not a flattering thing to admit to.”

“There’s not much for you to feel possessive about,” Will said. “We had a thing, it was fun. That was all. I hadn’t seen him for ages and he didn’t know about you and then, when he did… Well, he was pleased for me, I think.” Will shrugged. “He’s a nice guy under the jock stuff.”

“I have no doubt of it,” Hannibal said. “You wouldn’t suffer anything less.”

“The night I met him I threatened to punch him,” said Will.

Hannibal turned his head sharply, a flash of angry concern escaping from under his calm veneer. Will was torn between a laugh and climbing into his lap for the hot reassurance of kisses. He settled for pulling Hannibal’s hand into his own, and pressing it to his cheek. Hannibal sighed, and stroked the hair back from Will’s face.

“You are like quicksilver,” he said. “At times it’s hard to see how I can hold on to you. It may not always bring out the best in me.”

Poor Hanners, sulking in his car, drowning his ~feelings~ in Wagner :D

Not to go all mushy but the development of Quicksilver kind of mirrors the development of my friendship with @theseavoices (who you know I now have a very very very good IRL friendship with) so it’s been quite a meaningful experience for me. We’d chatted a little bit and one day I made an throwaway comment about how I was wearing “fem!Will! clothes that day (basically a plaid shirt dress with sensible outerwear). She quizzed me about that for a while, then she said, I’m going to paint him! My response was :0 and I rushed off to find suitable clothes for him. When I saw the first sketch, I was doomed - there was no way I wasn’t going to write something for it and that ended up being the first fic. I had no ideas about writing a series or considering story arcs or anything that complicated.

The three fics which followed came about through our conversations - all of them are, in one way or another, essentially based on prompts given to me by @theseavoices. It’s at a strange stage now where we’ve built this very strong world and I can’t wait for the opportunity to throw all that I’ve learned about writing over the past couple of years at Quicksilver. It’s actually been really good to pause with the series and let it mature a bit, before taking it any further. I know it’s been a long wait, and it will take a bit more time, but I hope it will be worth it :)

i've been with a good humour recently (ignore yesterday i cried myself to exhaustion lol), so, as i always talk a lot about my drafts but adhd gets the best of my mental health... it's common to me delay and change the days i post a fanfiction (the last time i published smth it was on february). — but i really do try my best to put out smth fast as i can, and well, atp i have almost 100 drafts and mostly are about my favorite character aka husband, peter maximoff.

i recently got myself back to write feeling less conflicted and idk about all of you but my mind works with more than 3 plots at the same time, and these under in the poll are the ones i'm prioritizing my writing!! 😊🩷 (ALL OF THEM WILL BE RELEASED EVEN IF DON'T WIN THIS POLL.)

i never talked about this but it's a thing i should have a shout out to it: peter maximoff as spiderman!!

i think a bunch 'bout this concept and i have some wips of fanarts of him like this that i couldn't finish yet bc rn my ipad needs fixing (😞), but i really adore spiderverse movies and it would be a super fun concept about peter maximoff being a anomaly or smth like this and not being quicksilver but a spiderman.

i think it's funny too because of the 'peter thing', he is a peter too!! (the memes of spiderman pointing at each other or just being a pure coincidence his name is peter lol)

anyway, it's a thing i think a lot some times because i love peter maximoff and he's injected in my veins ♡
