what various marvel characters would be like as a parent, tysm to @lilacprincessofrecovery for the idea!

Steve Rogers He's gonna be a little freaked out to be a dad, but he'd be the dad that documented every little milestone, from your first steps to your school graduations to your wedding day and all the tiny insignificant moments in between. His kid is the most precious person in the world to him. When his kid is older they might want him to step back a bit, but they only have to talk to him and he'll understand.

Bucky Barnes Very hesitant as a dad, unsure what to do so he's gonna buy every child-rearing book ever published. Any problem that comes up, he's gonna be rehearsing responses in his head that he found online. It's sometimes a trial-and-error process, but he'll be damned if he doesn't try his best to help his kid in any way he can.

Tony Stark He knows what it's like to feel like you have an absent parent, so will make sure he's there whenever you need him. Can and will cut important meetings short because his kid had a bad day and wants to go get ice cream. He can seem a bit strict at times, but he's just cautious because of the amount of trauma he's been through and he's constantly worried that his kid is gonna go through problems that he can't solve.

Natasha Romanoff She is a surprisingly fun mum. Spontaneous trips galore, may or may not take you out of school for a day when she notices you've been particularly stressed. She's the mum other mums call to ask for help with their kids, but her solutions are mostly 'just listen to your damn kids! Value what they have to say!' The mum that creates a code with them for when either of them want to get out of a situation like a bad date.

Wanda Maximoff She has a firm hand as a mum, but has the correct ratio of driving past mcdonalds and caving to buy fries and ice cream on the way home. If her kid is having trouble at school, she's patient and gentle when she asks what's wrong, what can she do to help, would her kid benefit from outside help? She'll want them to finish their homework before they go out in the evening but understands that sometimes that's not possible and will let her kid go out to relax.

Stephen Strange He's a little confused by his kid, and sometimes they butt heads because they inherited his stubborn personality, but will be the adult and say that they both need a little time to cool off. He might not be great at verbal affection, but will shoulder bump his kid to ask if they're okay, will ruffle their hair as a way to say he loves them and has many non-verbal ways to communicate with his kid.

Thor Odinson Such a proud dad, regardless of his kid's hobbies, aspirations or academic success. He's the dad that brags about his kid and they will never be in doubt about how much he loves them. King of piggy-back rides. Is passionate about instilling Asgardian values into his kid, and will tell them all about their heritage, telling them some of the less scary battle tales as bedtime stories when they're young.

Loki Laufeyson He's so not sure what to do with his kid, but has Thor on speed-dial. Gets so concerned when his kid is sad, and has a notebook filled with things that make his kid happy so that when needed, he can bust out the ice cream and movie night or the shopping spree depending on the situation. Plenty of hugs, he never wants his kid to feel the way he did so regardless of how confused he is, he'll make the effort to talk it through with them and they'll figure out problems together.

Bonus! Peggy Carter The mum that encourages her kid to pursue what they're passionate in. Drawing? She's bought pencils and a sketchpad. Football? Setting up goalposts in the garden. Makeup? What's hers is theirs. Is quietly proud of her kid. She'll push them to do their best and work their hardest, but understands that there is a difference between doing their best and overworking themselves. She's very protective as a mum, probably despises the PTA.

What they do to distract you on a boring meeting (MCU)

Tony Stark

You would regret sitting next to him, because the moment he got bored, he took your arm and started drawing on it. At first, they were just random numbers and doodles, mostly llamas, but the more you were there, the more he drew and now you had your whole arm covered and OMG please tell me that’s not a plan for a llama park, Tony!.

Agatha Harkness

Agatha would offer you some alcohol (-where did you get that from?! -Nowhere important, dear) and keep whispering sarcastic comments about everyone in the room, making you giggle. But it didn’t work for too long, tho. God, you hated these meetings. When the witch noticed that her sarcasm wasn’t working anymore, she’d go for plan B. You’d jump a little when you feel a magic string on your thigh, too close to holy ground.

“Get your magic out of there, Harkness”

“Would you like me to use my fingers instead, love?”

Loki

You wouldn’t be there for a long time, don’t worry. The moment he saw how bored you were, he would make a quick excuse to get both of you out of there, it wasn’t like anyone wanted him there in the first place, and he only went because you were going too. Loki would take you to one of your favorite places, no matter where. He’d convince you to cause some “innocent” misbehaviour. You’d end up having the time of your life, both of you laughing in the middle of a chaotic mess.

Frigga

As a queen, Frigga was used to attending meetings. It didn’t mean she liked them, tho. So she really understood when you sighed and tried to keep your eyes open, too bored. She would run her fingers along your thigh, tickling you and loving the way you tried to contain your giggles. If you weren't sitting next to her, her magic would do the work. Either way, the queen would end up amused while you would end up red-faced.

F.R.I.D.A.Y.

You jumped when your cell phone vibrated in your pocket, pulling it out quickly and stealthily. You frowned when you saw that it was a message from F.R.I.D.A.Y. herself, asking if you could explain some things to her about human behavior that she didn't understand. It wasn't a good time, but you couldn't say no to the cute AI, so you agreed. Tony smiled when he noticed that your attention was on your phone, strongly suspicious of his girl, but he didn't say anything. After all, F.R.I.D.A.Y. would tell you the important stuff later, and from the way your posture relaxed, the genie knew the distraction was more than welcome.

i know i originally asked for bucky requests but i felt ashamed at the thought of not including sam loml wilson - as i should. i’m a better person now.

all requests are open for these two boys only.

bucky barnes

bucky’s practically always the first one awake

but it’s fine ‘cos he’d love watching you sleep - it’d put him at ease and think all kinds of happy thoughts, distracting him from his usually dark ones

once you wake up too, bucky would try to act like he hadn’t been staring

and would fail terribly

you would shoot him a sleepy smile and scoot closer to him, not always intentionally, just out of a deeper need to be close to him at all times

bucky would answer by sliding an arm around your waist to pull you in even closer

(he wouldn’t let you sleep on his right by the way because then he could only touch you with his metal arm and no <3)

you both would probably still be half-asleep, so there would be minimal talking and maximum enjoying each other’s presence

you would love pressing your forehead into the crook of bucky’s neck and he’d adore how your soft exhales would tickle his skin

he would also absent-mindedly draw llittle invisible patterns onto your back, only the tip of his fingers brushing you and sending shivers down your spine

honestly, you could probably fall back asleep in bucky’s arms cos he’d make you feel so safe and warm and protected

and he wouldn’t mind at all :’)

sam wilson

you would wake up almost at the same time and sam would always greet you with a loving smile and a slightly husky “good morning, doll”

would also a hundred percent just stare at you for a few minutes, admiring your natural beauty before telling you to “come here” and pulling you in

you would usually lay your head on his chest and listen to his heartbeat while he kept a loose arm around you until you both were fully awake

sam would offer to make you coffee and breakfast and serve them in bed but you just wouldn’t let this man go

would shower him with kisses

as you should

also tickle fights

well, it would actually be sam tickling you, really

you wouldn’t stand a chance

and he’d not only love listening to your laughter, his heart would also swell at watching your face light up with happiness

and he couldn’t help but pull you in for the longest kiss and you would melt into his arms and he would hold you close and play with your hair and you’d fall in love with him all over again

and who could blame you?
