[ HEAVEN IS A PLACE ON EARTH WITH YOU ]

A L E J A N D R O … he tells you that you're too ridiculous not to love, and you just want to keep calling his name until he comes back home. you thought you'd have more time. you don't like being alone, but you've learned how to live with it. you think you'll miss him forever - like the stars miss the sun in the morning sky - and you just want him the way he was. heaven is a place on earth with him, this, you are sure of; you would wait a million years. iif they ever separate the two of you again, it'll be because you're dead.

and one day, when you wake up at three in the morning, unable to sleep, you will look next to you and he will be there, sleeping peacefully beside you, and suddenly, the world won't seem so lonely. [ amc au ]

E L I A S … heavy wind, cold rain, and yes the stars, and yes these hands of mine. there is a dream molting in your chest; your dream sheds its muddy, thunder-stained skin and asks for a heart of peony fields this time. but then nights get heavy like they always do. in your head you are hunting for yourself, but you come up empty again. the night grows so wide it could be a cavern and you are somewhere underneath it, inside it, lost. but travelers always leave lanterns behind and as you feel for the candle there arrives a memory of bronze-colored light. so you dream, you dream, you keep dreaming. one word in your mouth crystallizes like sugar: hope. what a hell it would have been, if not for the birds! you tell your lover that the two of you deserve a soft epilogue. he agrees. [ LOVE LIKE FEELING THE SUN ON BOTH SIDES ]

A N A S T A S I Y … it is winter and the fields are numb. your eyes are framed with wildflower bruises, and you have the quaking knees to prove it. she could wax poetry like poe about your hands alone, but your smile is your saving grace, a moonbeam stark against battered skin. you think you fall in love a little bit, with anyone who shows you their soul. dried white roses petals for breakfast, hot coffee for lunch, dreams for dinner - the shining kind full of cold rivers and tinsel windmills, where you save her and she saves you and and you both save each other over and over, a hundred times, a thousand times, endlessly. you carry the heavens in your eyes like one of those old greek tragedies; you're willing to become the angel she loves in the fairy tales, and you’ll open your arms wide, then turn them into wings to protect her. and together with her, you'll write your own ending.

G E N E V I E V E … there is a boy in your class who looks like he could catch a bird out of the brush with his bare hands; a gentleness you cannot mirror, though you long to. you'll send your lovesickness to the bright moon, hoping that he will notice. you'll write him as a poem and send it across a thousand miles, because he is the dream that soaks the new moon white and the breeze that dyes the maple leaves red, changing your world of colorless silence. you had a dream that the sun in the sky was feeling so lonely that he started to cry, and alone in your dream room, you want to love him.

and perhaps he doesn't understand - ever since he said that he loved you, every star in your sky lit up, because sometimes home can be another person, and he feels like home, like dried white roses petals for breakfast, hot coffee for lunch, and dreams for dinner.
