We shivered convulsively, urgent for each other's warmth
Diana Gabaldon - The Fiery Cross
I sometimes dance around empty rooms, daydream about Paris, listen to my ex lover's playlists and at this point, I can't really tell if I'm lonely, or just falling in love with myself.
Self-love always.
War
If you have waged a war, with yourself or the world,
Then either you have mocked and self- deprecated, or cried absurd.
Anomalies. We are product of those. Wanting fire and ice, both.
Wanting the shower, but it must not rain.
Fear the unknown, yet long for pain.
Inequalities, the plentiful can end.
But they dare not. It would shatter pretense.
‘Strife makes us human’, it transforms myths to legends.
To be born is to suffer, your karma is your penance.
Wars, if fought, aren’t just ones on a battlefield.
With bloodied hands, callused knuckles, at the sound of the horn.
Wars- are fought within.
The fear, the eviscerated beliefs, the white noise,
fighting silences, louder than bombs.
If you heed to the war bugle,
what does that make thee?
Human? Entirely so. Damaged, charred mass of bones.
The casulaties shall be more than the dead bodies.
For those who waged wars, were too,
haunted by the unknown.
Then you realize you don't remember anymore. The details have faded away. The shape of their hand, the way their teeth are aligned, their skin, their eyes, it all disappeared from that memory of yours that once thought it will never let go. So you grab a cup of coffee, take a deep breath, open the window, watch another day biting the dust, and think about the new hands, the new eyes, and everything about this new person who managed to erase every bit that was left.
There's something about a woman with a loud mind that sits in silence, smiling, knowing she can crush you with the truth.
