Is it true that you own the right to the works of R. A. Lafferty?
What an odd one! No, not true at all.
Some years ago I donated a fee to the Locus Science Fiction Foundation* https://lsff.net/, that allowed the Foundation to buy the rights to Lafferty's work outright -- previously, it had been owned by about 40 of his relations, which meant trying to get anything into print involved getting 40 people to agree. The Foundation seemed like a good home for it. This is why Lafferty's work has been coming back into print over the last several years.
